MRS. LENA BENEY
Obituary from the Saint Croix Courier:
Black's Harbour----The death of
Mrs. Lena Beney, wife of Samuel Beney, occurred at the Fundy Hospital here
following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Beney was born in Elmcroft,
N.B. the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Sunderland) Beney.
She is survived by her husband;
five sons, Otis, Samuel jr., and Arthur, all of Black's Harbour;
Warren of St. George and Vincent, Sudbury, Ontario; two daughters,
Mrs. Melvin Leavitt, Black's Harbour and Miss Bessie Beney at home, one
brother Thomas, Bonny River, Charlotte County; one sister; Mrs. Herman
Stewart, Black's Harbour; 18 grandchildren and several neices and
nephews.
Prayers were said at the home,
followed by service at the United Baptist church with Rev. Clyde Hicks
officiating.
Pallbearers were; Roland Lee, Douglas
Frost, Percy Jordan, Everett Maxwell, Charles Davis, and John Goss.
Interment was in the adjoining
cemetery.
