Percy Holden Jordan

 

 

Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on May 30, 2003, Mr. Percy Holden Jordan, of Lincourt Manor and formerly of Second Falls, NB, husband of the late Eunice (Goodrich) Jordan. Born in Barker's Point, NB on March 15, 1920, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Clara A. (Smith) Jordan. A loving father and grandfather, Percy is survived by one son, Emerson (Edith) Jordan of Second Falls; two daughters, Clara (Charles) Chambers, Alice (David) Baldwin, all of Second Falls, NB; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Rhoda Carson of Campbellton, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph and Gilbert.

 

Percy was a veteran of WWII, serving overseas in England, France, Belgium and Holland with the Carleton-York Regiment. He went overseas in the fall of 1944 until victory was declared. He was a heavy-equipment operator by trade, working the last 18 years prior to his retirement with Lake Utopia Paper. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #40, St. George.

 

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9. The service will be held on Monday at 2 pm at the Second Falls Baptist Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 7 pm. Donations in Percy's memory to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
