The death of Samuel Joseph Beney occurred at the Fundy Hospital,
Black's Harbour,March 28,1970.
He was born at St.George, N.B. April 27th,1892, the son of the
late Archibald and Elizabeth(Wallace) Beney and lived at Bonney River from
the time he was nine years of age.
His wife Lena predeceased him August 30,1966. He is survived
by two daughters, Bessie at home, Mrs Melvin Leavitt (Beatrice) Black's
Harbour, Otis, Samuel, and Arthur, all of Black's Harbour, Warren, St.George,
and Vincent, Sudbury, Ontario, one brother Archibald, Bonney River, twenty
grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from the home of his son Otis, to the Second
Falls Baptist Church of which he was a member, conducted by Rev. Kenneth
Hughes, assisted by Rev. J.F. McElhinney of the Wesleyan Church, Black's
Harbour, and Rev. H.D.McNair of the Pentecostal Church, Black's Harbour.
The choir sang three favorite hymns,'In the Sweet By and By','The
Last Mile of the Way',and 'Rock of Ages'.
Pallbearers were Roland Lee, Douglas Frost, Percy Jorden, Jack
Frost, Charles Davis, and George Gillmor. Interment was in the adjoining
cemetery.
Relatives and friends attended from Freeport, Maine, Calais,
Maine, Woodland, Maine, St.Stephen,St.George, Back Bay, Pennfield, Beaver
Harbour, Black's Harbour, and St. Andrews.
