Surrounded by his family, at
the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB, the death of Mr. Ralph Bertrum
Anthony, husband of June Elaine (Curran) Anthony, occurred on Thursday,
April 1, 2004.
Born on Campobello Island, NB, May 25, 1925, he was
a son of the late Howard Watterson Anthony and Elizabeth Lillian
(Fletcher) Anthony. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bertrum (Rebecca) of Pennfield, NB, Howard (Cathy) of Oak Bay, NB, Dallas
(Melanie) of St. George, NB; six daughters, Bonnie (Mrs. Mark Seelye) and
Elizabeth Anthony, all of Blacks Harbour, NB, Glenna (Mrs. Allen Mahar)
and Lori (Mrs. Ian Hudson) all of Pennfield, NB, Sherri & companion
David McLaughlin of St. George, NB and Dorothy (Mrs. David Small) of
Pennfield, NB; fifteen grandchildren, Andrew, Leighann, Penny, Lori-Beth,
Christa, Edward, Patricia, Jessica, Katelyn, Wesley, Abigail, Noah,
Courtney, Alexander and Jade; one great-granddaughter, Rachael; six
sisters, Merle McPherson, Seretha (Mrs. Walter Munn), Laura
Wilcox, Ruth
Beney, Lillian (Mrs. Vance Justason) and Mary (Mrs. Stephen
Boyd); one
brother, Gordon (Rose); many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ralph was
pre-deceased by seven brothers, Ronald, Waitstill, Wesley, James,
Millidge, Willard and Graeme, and one sister, Edith.
Ralph was a
fisherman in his earlier years, and for over 20 years worked maintenance
for Connors Bros. Ltd. in Blacks Harbour, NB. He was an avid dart player,
loved hunting and fishing, but his passion was his
grandchildren.
Resting at the Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour from
where the service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Bruce Cheney
officiating. Visiting hours on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Donations to
the Alzheimer Society, the Diabetes Association, Fundy Nursing Home, or a
charity of the donor’s choice, would be appreciated by the family.
