Audrey Lillian Hennessey

Peacefully, at the Woolastook Manor, Gagetown, NB on May 20, 2004, Mrs. Audrey Lillian Hennessey, 97, wife of the late George Hennessey, and formerly of St. George, NB. Born in Plympton, Nova Scotia on October 18, 1906, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Susie (Tucker) MacDonald. Audrey is survived by her god-daughter, Mary Christie of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Adeline MacDonald of St. Stephen, NB; and several nieces and nephews. Audrey was the oldest member in the Granite Chapter #15 OES in St. George, NB and a former member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, St. George, NB. She was a telephone pioneer, and worked for the Moncton City Hospital as a Switchboard Operator for many years.

A graveside service will be held on Friday afternoon, May 21st, at 2:30 pm, at the St. George Roman Catholic Cemetery, with Rev. Canon David Genge officiating. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB.

Visiting hours at the Funeral Home will take place on Friday, 12 noon - 2 pm.

In Audrey’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by Mary Christie and her family .
