Douglas Gorham Frost
1922 - 2006
Peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Saint John, NB, surrounded by his loving
family, on June 4, 2006, Mr. Douglas Gorham Frost, of Second Falls, NB,
husband of the late Kathleen Josephine (Essensa) Frost. Born at Second
Falls on July 16, 1922, he was a son of the late Gorham and Mary Augusta (Kinney)
Frost. A loving father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by four
daughters, Joyce (Mrs. Graham Hooper) of St. George, Eileen (Mrs.
Geoffrey Hatt) of L’Etang, Olive (Mrs. Richard Smith) of Pocologan
and Diane Belliveau of Second Falls; three sons, Garry (Beverly) Frost
and Robert (Judy) Frost, both of Second Falls, and Stephen (Carol) Frost of
Johnston Settlement, NB; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother,
Merlin Frost of Second Falls; two sisters, Nellie Lee of Pennfield and
Berla Campbell of St. George; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was
pre-deceased by a brother, Hazen Frost, and a sister, Doris Reardon.
Doug served with the Canadian Army in WWII. He had been employed, prior to his
retirement, as a labourer for the NB Department of Transportation and with
Connors Bros. Ltd. as a fork lift operator. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and
was great moose caller. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #12, F & AM.
Resting at St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St.
George, NB E5C 3L6, with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. The service will
be held on Wednesday at 2 pm from the Second Falls United Baptist Church,
followed by interment in the church cemetery. In Doug’s memory, donations to the
Charlotte County Cancer Society, Second Falls United Baptist Church, or a
charity of the donor’s choice, would be appreciated by the family.
