Patricia Matheson-O誰eil, M.D.

 Patricia Matheson O誰eil, M.D. passed away suddenly at her residence in Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday, September 7, 2006. She was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on December 5, 1933 and reared in Digby, Nova Scotia. She was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Rubin) Matheson.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by 3 children; Stuart O誰eil of Dallas, Texas, Stephen O誰eil, M.D. of Beaumont, Texas, and Heather Tardy of Salt Lake City, Utah, along with four wonderful grandchildren; Stephanie O誰eil, Rachel O誰eil, Kyle O誰eil and Aidan Tardy. Additionally, she is survived be her uncle, Nathan J. Rubin of St. George, son-in-law, Alex Tardy and daughter-in-law Kim O誰eil.

Pat completed her medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, as one of the very few female physicians. Following medical school, Pat went on to specialize her medical profession in the field of Anaesthesia, with a prominent career that spanned many decades.

Hers was a life well lived, filled with family and friends, and Pat will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage St. St. George, NB (755-3533) on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, immediately followed by a service at 2:00 pm, at the funeral home from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Canon David Genge officiating. Interment will follow at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Donations to a charity of the donor痴 choice would be appreciated by the family.
