Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on June 5, 2006, Mr. Stanley Joseph Spinney, 95, husband of Marguerite Elizabeth (Hawkins) Spinney, of Breadalbane, NB. Born in St. George on April 28, 1911, he was a son of the late George Frederick and Jessie (Douglas) Spinney. A loving husband and father, he is survived, besides his wife, by one son, David (Beth) Hatt of St. George; one daughter, Becky Brown of Blacks Harbour; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one nephew, Kenneth Dow of Ontario. He was predeceased by two brothers, Wesley and George; three sisters, Helen Steeves, Lillian Dow and Ethel Tatton.
Stanley was an avid gardener and loved his horses and working in the woods. He was a life-time member of the New Brunswick Blueberry Growers Association and a member of the St. George Baptist Church.
Resting at the St. George Baptist Church with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held on Thursday at 2 pm, followed by interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Stanley’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
