LEST WE FORGET
The Ode
They went with songs to the battle, they were
young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.
IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE OF ALL THOSE WHO SERVED IN PAST CONFLICTS AND IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES.
If anyone has photographs and/or any other information of any of the veterans, please contact me.

above as "Doc.") come from the National Archives of
Canada. If you write to the Personnel File Division of National Archives
the WW1 personnel file of an individual, with its marvelous detail, can
be ordered. It is well worth doing so when compiling a complete family
history.
