13-8-1942: "The Station Commander flew in Ventura to YARMOUTH, N.S. with the C.I.,
W/Cmdr. N.W. TIMMERMAN, D.S.O., D.F.C., Chief Ground Instructor and Chief Armament Instructor to discuss with G/Capt. N.S. McGREGOR, D.F.C.,
the future movement of a detachment from this Unit, this being necessary owing to increased strength of aircraft, lack of hangar space and the
necessary buildings for training. The question of detaching the Armament Flight was considered." |
20-8-1942: "It has been authorized that the Armament Training Flight be detached
to R.A.F. Station, YARMOUTH temporarily pending the provisions of essential additional accommodation at PENNFIELD RIDGE. Today the advance
party proceeded in accordance with Movement Order No.1 attached as Appendix 'B'. S/Ldr. J.A. McRAE, Senior Armament Office, proceeded by air
to assume command of the Detachment. " |
29-8-1942: "The Armament Flight today moved to YARMOUTH together with No.1 Course pupils - see Movement Order No.3 (Appendix "C'). 57 Officers and Sergeants, members
of aircrew, went by air in 11 Venturas, 1 Anson and 3 Lysanders, the remainder of the party proceeding by road and sea." |
