WALSH, AGATHA M. -
At her residence on August 3, 2002, Agatha Madeline (Clark) Walsh
of the Rocmaura Nursing Home and formerly of Kingsville Rd, Saint
John West, wife of the late David Walsh. Born in Benton, York Co.,
she was the daughter of
the late James and Mary (Griffin) Clark. Agatha was a member of St.
Rose of Lima Parish and also a member of the C.W.L. and a member
of the Legion of Mary. She volunteered at Centra Care for over
ten years and was the last member of her immediate family. She is
survived by two sons James D. of Loch Lomond Villa and Kenneth E.
and his wife Judy of Saint John, two grandchildren, one great
grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Castle
"Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue (634-1701).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 8,
2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose de Lima Church. Interment in St.
Joseph\rquote s Cemetery. Visiting at "Fallsview" on
Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Donations to the Bruce Melanson
Scholarship Fund, New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or

WAUGH, THOMAS WILFRED F.
The passing of Thomas Wilfred F. Waugh of Fredericton occurred at
the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, April 25, 2002 at
the age of 82. Born December 9, 1919 in Florenceville, NB., he
was the
son of the late Jean G. Waugh and Fenwick Waugh of Florenceville. Thomas
managed Wandlyn Motels in Fredericton, Woodstock and Campbellton
and also worked 20 years with NBTel in Woodstock, Fredericton,
Saint John and Bathurst. He was Anglican by Faith and was a
member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Lions Club, Rotary Club and
Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife Jean Robertson (Veitch)
Waugh; daughters, Cecelia Jamieson (David) of Halifax and Wanda
Schriver )Bob) of Fredericton; grandchildren, David Thomas
Jamieson and Robert Andrew Jamieson of Vancouver, Robert Derek
Schriver and wife Kerri of Woodstock and Tara Amber Stewart and
husband Matthew of Fredericton; a great grandson Tyson Matthew
Robert Stewart. No visitation prior to service time. A memorial
service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel, 540
Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Saturday May 11, 2002 at 11:00 am.
A reception will immediately follow the service. Interment at a

WESTON, ARTHUR JAMES -
At his home in Centreville on Saturday November 9, 2003, Arthur
James Weston passed away at the age of 91. Born in Burmingham
England, he was the son of the late Albert & Leah (Rainsley)
Weston and the husband of the late Phyllis Marion Gee. Arthur is
survived by Daughters, Catherine (Steve) Cote of Perth-Andover,
Leah (William) Pryor of Williamstown, Sons, David (Camille) of
Calgary, Burns (Doreen) of Centreville, Fred (Betty) of Perth-Andover,
Donald (Sigrid) of Tracey Mills, Harry (Lanelle) of Colona, BC
and Francis of Calgary, 28 Grandchildren and several Great
Grandchildren. Resting at Kilcollins Chapel Florenceville with
visiting Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held on
Tuesday November 11, 2003 at 2:00 PM from Kilcollins Chapel
Florenceville, Rev. Chris VanBuskirk and Rev. Chris Hayes to
officiate. Interment will take place in the Summerfield Cemetery.
There will be a Legion Veteran Memorial Monday evening at 6:45 PM.

OBITUARY, Mrs. John Whalen Mrs. John
Whalen, a highly respected lady, well known in this town, died at
her home in Upper Woodstock, on Tuesday last week in her 73rd
year. She is survived by her husband who is in his 88th
year; 2 sons, John of Edmundston, and Edward of Upper Woodstock;
one son Daniel was killed in the World War, one daughter, Mrs.
Jeremiah Gallagher of this town; one step daughter, Mrs. Henry
Pickard of Bath; six sisters Mrs. James Crabbe, Debec, Mrs.
Edward McSheffery and Mrs. Thomas Pickard, Bath, Mrs. Stephen
McNichol and Misses Kate and Johanna Dugan of Boston, three
brothers, Timothy, John and Daniel Dugan of Bath. The
funeral service was on Thursday conducted by Rev. D. S. O'Keeffe.

WHITE, HEATHER LINDSAY
Heather L. White of Southampton passed away November 17, 2003 at
her home. She was born in Woodstock on October 24, 1987. Heather
was a grade eleven student at Nackawic High School. She enjoyed
horseback riding, her art, video games, Yu-Gi-Oh, Anime and
Japanese and German music. She is survived by her foster parents,
Greg and Kathy Dore and their son Evan; her father, Richard
Foster; a sister, Alanna White; her friend Kevin Blair; several
other relatives and her pet dog Suki. Heather was predeceased by
her mother, Brenda White in 1995. Resting at Flewelling Funeral
Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Wednesday from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the
funeral home chapel on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 2 p.m. Rev.

White, Howard Gordon , ORAMOCTO, NB -
The death of Howard Gordon White occurred on November 13, 2002 at
the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Wicklow, NB, he was the
son of the late Stanley and Emma
(Crane) White.
He served with the RCAF during WW11. Howard is survived by three
sons, Ward (Esther) White of Riverview, NB, John (Susan) White of
Riverview, NB and Dr. Joe (Lucie) White of Oromocto, NB; nine
grandchildren, Jacalyn (Rolf) Weidlich of Burlington, ON, Joel,
Daniel, Joanna, Nicholas, Keith, Maureen, Jeffrey and Amy; two
brothers, Philip White of Wicklow, NB and Dr. Lee White of Perth-Andover,
NB; one sister, Winnifred (Henry) Estey of Hartland, NB and
several nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by his wife,
Amy (Wood) White; his parents; brother, Leslie and two sisters,
Marion and Helen. The family will receive visitors at McAdam's
Select Community Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, 2002 from 2

WHITEHOUSE, ARLIE
Arlie Whitehouse of Knowlesville, passed away at the Carleton
Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Wednesday, April 3, 2002. He
was born May 17, 1921 and was the
son of the late Osbert and Ella
Whitehouse.
He was predeceased by a son, Wayne, brothers, Austin, Vernon,
Ernest and Lorne. He is survived by his wife Avis (Derrah)
Whitehouse, daughter Darlene Whitehouse, Sheehan and her husband
Kevin of Fredericton and their children Caroline and Patrick.
Sisters, Stella Goodwin and Wilma Orser of Somerville, Dorothy
Lee of Saint John, several nieces and nephews. Resting at the
Britton Funeral Home, High Street, Hartland with visiting hours
on Friday 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday 2:00
to 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 3:30
p.m. from the Lorne Britton Memorial chapel. Interment will be in
the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. The family would

The death of Grace (Cummings) Whitehouse of Fredericton, formerly
of Juniper, occurred after a lengthy illness at the Dr. Everett
Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB, on Monday, December 27th,
1999. Born in Alma, NB, she was the wife of the late Clarence
William Whitehouse, and daughter of the late David and Cora (Perkins)
Cummings.
Grace is survived by two daughters;. three sisters.., She was
predeceased by two brothers, Ralph Cummings of Nelson, BC, and
Russell Cummings of Toronto, ON. The family will receive visitors
at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 29th, from 7-9
p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30th,
1999 at 1:00 p.m. in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel. Interment
will take place in the Glassville United Cemetery at a later date.

WIGHTMAN, BESSIE MAUDE (NEE HUNTER) -
Peacefully, on May 29, 2003 at the Glebe Centre, Ottawa, ON.
Predeceased by Arthur her husband of 55 years, baby daughter Anne
and grandson Geoff, as well as siblings Muriel, Hazel, Clifford
and Borden. Beloved mother of Bob (Peggy Colpitts), grandmother
of Chris (Sherry McPhail) and Pete (Julie Ireton) and great-grandmother
to Noah and Luke, all of Ottawa. Also survived by sister-in-law,
Marjorie, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Born in
Florenceville, NB, October 13,1905, she lived most of her life in
Fredericton, NB, except for 1934 -1943, in Ottawa. She was deeply
involved in the community as well as her extended family and
spent most of her working career with the New Brunswick
Association of Registered Nurses. In 1999 she left her many close
friends in NB and moved to Ottawa to be near her immediate family.
In memoriam donations to a favorite charity would be welcomed. A
memorial service and committal will take place on July 10, 2003
at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church in Fredericton, NB.

WORT, Daniel Ethelbert "Albert"
The death of Daniel Albert Wort, aged 67 occurred at his home in
Upper Main Street, last evening at 10:30 o'clock. Mr. Wort was
employed by the Town of Woodstock as superintendent at the Water
Works for 42 years. A mechanical genius, four minature railroads,
two still at Island Park, which have given pleasure to so many
children, were his work. Funeral arrangements have not yet been
completed. D. Ethelbert Wort passes away at his home here. Was
Engineer at Water Works; Maker of Island Park Railway.

One of Woodstock and Carleton County best known citizens died
here last Thursday morning following a heart attack. He was 67
years old. Born at Richmond he was the son of the late Henry E. and
Mary Jane Wort.
When he was still a boy he moved to Woodstock when he entered the
employ of the town. For 53 years he served the Town of Woodstock,
for the past forty years as chief enigneer at the pumping station.
Although nearly blind for the past few years he was quite
remarkable and was able to find his way about the streets and
through the plumping station every inch of which he knew by heart.
A mechanical genius, perhaps he will be best remembered by a
generation of Carleton County young people for his "Island
Park Railway". No exhibition would have been complete
without several rides on this ingenious masterpiece which Mr.
Wort had constructed in his spare moments. The equipment included
several minature locomotives, passenger coaches, stations,
tracks, round house and storage rooms. Two of his locomotives he
sold in India and he at once set to work building another which
he finished in a short time. Mr. Wort was a member of the Masonic
Lodge and of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He is survived
by his widow, formerly Miss Annie Monteith, three sons, Allan,
Woodstock, Donald with the Canadian Artillery overseas and
Gordon, stationed with the troops in Ontario and six daughters,
Mrs. Charles Stiles, Fredericton, Mrs. Harold Sharkey, Deerville,
Mrs. Alex Steeves, Toronto, Mrs. George Stronach, Woodstock, and
Misses Annie and Ruth at home. The funeral was held from his late
home Upper Main Street on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev.F.A.
Anderson conducted the service assisted by Adj. Harris of the
Salvation Army. The choir of the Reformed Baptist Church sang
"
Abide With Me", "Beautiful Isle of
Somewhere", and "Lead Kindly Light". The
pallbearers were: R.F. Payson, Willard Hayden,George True, Frank
Colwell, Frank Hillman, and Jack Millbury. Interment took place
in the Methodist Cemetary. The floral tributes were many and
beautiful. The

WORT, Mrs. Ann
The death of Mrs. Ann Wort wife of the late Albert D.E. Wort
occurred at the Carleton Memorial Hospital, July 28 after a long
illness. She was 94. Born in Strabane County Tyrone, Ireland, she
was the daughter
of the late James and Martha (Kane) Monteith. Coming to Canada at the age of
18, she made her home with her uncle, Robert Monteith at
Northampton before moving to Woodstock. Funeral services were
held at Dewitts Funeral Home with Rev. B. Evans officiating.
Hymns were sung by Mrs. Grace Mutch and Mrs. Joan McKell. Mrs.
Wort is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Charles Stiles, Mrs.
Harold Sharkey, Mrs. Eugene Smith, all of Woodstock; Mrs. Ronald
Monteith of Grafton; Mrs. Jennie Steeves, Toronto; three sons
Donald and Gordon, Woodstock, and Allan of St.John. A daughter,
Mrs. Walter Parkinson (Ruth) died in 1950. Pallbearers were her
grandsons, Charles and David Monteith, Sonny Sharkey, Lewis
Parkinson, Douglas Wort and Dwayne Jones. Burial was in the

WRIGHT, BARNEY FREDERICK
Barney Frederick Wright of Woodstock, New Brunswick, passed away
at the Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Sunday,
February 22, 2004, at the age of 55. Barney is survived by his
wife, Lois A. (Bartlett) Wright; two sons, Michael Frederick
Wright and Andrew Bartlett Wright, both of Woodstock; a daughter,
Sarah Jane Mahar (David) of Woodstock; a grandson, Jakob Andrew
Mahar; his father, Milton Wright of Lakeville; a sister, Carole
Lee Wright of Fredericton; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces
and nephews. Barney was predeceased by his mother, Eileen A. (McKinley)
Wright. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street,
Woodstock, with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The
funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the
Woodstock Baptist Church. Rev. Leonard Cousins will be
officiating, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a
later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian
Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
