NASON, KENNETH MALCOLM Ken Nason of Woodstock, passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the age of 70. Ken is survived by three sons, Kenneth Nason Jr., of Florida; Gary Nason of Fredericton; Kevin Nason of Moncton; one daughter, Kelly Nason of Fredericton; six sisters, Pauline Lanier of Georgia; Mildred Dunham of Toronto; Barbara Ewanick of Toronto; Sheila Ames of Fredericton; Frances Hong of Fredericton; Margaret Orser of Conn; several nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Gladys (Williams) Nason; two sisters Diane Nason and Freda Britton. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB, with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. from The Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Captain Sheldon Wiseman will be officiating, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.

WASHBURN - Gertrude A. Nickerson, 84, died Feb. 3, 2000, at a Mars Hill health-care facility. She was born June 3, 1915, in Wicklow, New Brunswick, Canada, the
daughter of Chester A. and Laura E. (Young) Drost. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Washburn. She is survived by a son, ....; two brothers, ...of Bath, N.B., and ... of Wicklow, N.B.; a sister, ...; a sister-in-law...of Bath, N.B.; several nieces and nephews. Of Lower Woodstock passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at the age of 64. Gerald is survived by his wife Violet; three sons Gerald Nicholson Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Fredericton; Ricky Nicholson and his wife Angela of Woodstock; Randall Nicholson and his wife Brenda of Woodstock; three daughters, Wendy Hallahan and her husband Wayne of Fredericton; Barbara Nicholson of Saint John; Nancy Denton and her husband Michael of Saint John. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Meagan; Kyle; Kristen; Chelsey; Brittany; Kurtis and Hilary Nicholson and Justin Wilson; several nieces and nephews. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 PM from The Scott Chapel. Rev. Survived by children, Muriel Carr and Roland (Donna) Nicholson; sister, Ethel (Walter) Stockford; grandchildren, Elaine (Carr) Garnet, Gordon Carr, Kenneth Carr, Susan Carr, Debbie (Carr), Cheryln (Nicholson) Kidney, Christine (Nicholson) Furrow; 11 great grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Predeceased by great grandchild, Amada Carr. Also by sisters, Stella Griffin and Elsie Anderson and brothers, Milo Anderson and Trevor Anderson. Resting at The Culberson Funeral Home, 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, N.B. (325-1130). Visitation on Sunday, October 20, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. NICKERSON, ETTA EILEEN -
Passed away on April 18, 2002 at the Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, NB. She was 85. Etta (Leighton) Nickerson of Woodstock, NB was born in Benton, NB on June 4, 1926 to the late
Howard and Eva (Mowbray) Leighton. Etta worked at the Feldman\rquote s Clothing Company in Woodstock for numerous years. She is survived by one daughter, Doris Thomas (Ernest) of Bangor, ME; four grandchildren; Cindy, Mark, Cathy and Lisa, seven great-grandchildren; Mathew, Nicholas, Amy, Olivia, Victoria, Nichol and Joseph, and one sister-in-law, Pauline Derrah of Woodstock, NB. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil and one son Gary. Remains resting at The Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville, NB. At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation. Funeral service will be held on May 2, 2002 at 1:00 PM from the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery. If you wish to make an expression of sympathy the family has requested the Diabetic Association or the Cancer Society.

NIXON, DONALD EDWIN
Donald Edwin Nixon, Debec, passed away at the Carleton Memorial Hospital, Woodstock, January 19, 2002 at the age of 95. He was born in Glassville,
eldest son of George and Lydia (Simpson) Nixon, Bath, NB. He was an office employee of the C.P.R. from the age of fourteen until his retirement, the last twenty-five years being employed in Houlton, Maine, after which he and his wife moved to Debec where they resided until his death. Don was a gifted artist. He loved nature, was a woodsman, hunter, and fisherman. His favorite retreat being his camp at the "Forks" of the Miramichi. He is survived by his wife Alice McGibbon Nixon, Debec; one son, Donald Jr., six grandchildren, Sherol, Donna, David, Duncan, Don and Scott, of Rochester, NY, and brother, Murray, Bath, sisters, Helen Stillwell and Gertrude Howatt, Fredericton and Frances Giberson, Florenceville, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Mrs. Oscar MacDonadl (Edna), Woodstock, NB; three brothers, allen and Claude, Bath, NB and Joseph, Richmond Hill, Ontario. Memorial service to be held at a later date.

Nelson, EARL I.
NEWPORT  Earl I. Nelson, 87, died unexpectedly September 19, 2000 at a Bangor hospital. He was born November 23, 1912 at Charleston, New Brunswick, Canada,
the son of Charles and Emma (Dye) Nelson. During World War II, he was a guard at Quonset Point, Rhode Island. He also worked for a time in a shipyard, but retired from H. P. Hood Company in Newport after 27 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and will be remembered for his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed tying flies and making canoes by hand. He owned one of the first snowmobiles in Newport and could build and fix almost anything.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce E. (Prior) Nelson of Newport; a son and wife Harold E. and Deborah Nelson, also of Newport; and 2 step-grandsons, Wyatt and Gavin Trundy; 2 step daughters, Dorothy Luce of Augusta, and Patricia Fuller of Topsham; 2 grandsons, Malcolm Fuller and wife Yvette of Stratton and Wayne Fuller, Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska; a niece Shirley Parker and nephew Bill Wilson, both of North Bay, Ontario.
At the family 's request, there will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held 1 P.M. Friday, September 22nd, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Interment will be in the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the People's United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, ME 04953.

NELSON, Lela M.
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Lela M. Nelson, 95, died Feb. 20, 2001, at a local hospital. She was born Aug. 15, 1905, in Centerville, New Brunswick, the
daughter of Perry D. and Nellie (Thomas) Nelson. She was a life-long horse enthusiast and was proud of the family history of horse racing. She especially enjoyed watching her nephews, Brian Campbell and Brian Nelson in their racing accomplishments. She is survived by a dear friend and companion, John Maxfield of Dover-Foxcroft; Norma Bailey of Dexter, whom she loved as a daughter; two brothers, Spurgeon Nelson of Dexter, Perry Nelson of Corinna; two sisters, Dorothy Towle of Augusta, Shirley Campbell of Sangerville; Chad Kuzma and Melissa Trowbridge, whom she loved as grandchildren; Dylan Michael Trowbridge, whom she loved as a great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her dog, Ko-Ko. Lela was predeceased by a daughter, Avis Pearl; and her brothers and sisters, Roy Nelson Sr., Andrew Nelson, Earl Nelson, Glen Nelson, Ethel Barney, Avis Shaw, Lois McKenney, and Helen Higgins. Graveside funeral services will be held in the spring at the family lot in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.

NEILSON, CONRAD WESLEY -
On Sunday, September 1, 2002, near Thunder Bay, Ontario a tragic accident claimed the life of Conrad Wesley Neilson age 54 of Canterbury, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his only son Joseph Conrad and his Father Eugene Neilson. Conrad will be remembered lovingly and missed greatly by his wife Barbara (Henry) Neilson, his only daughter Billy Joanne (Michael) Furrow, his mother Hattie Neilson and friend Waymond Ruff. Also Conrad was much loved by his three sisters: Barbara (Carl) Fiander of Hampton, NB, Lorna (James) MacFarlane, of Hampton, NB, Darlene (Art) Hudson of Calgary, AB and his two brothers Danna (Lorraine) Neilson of St. Stephen, NB and Dean (Esther) Neilson of St. Stephen, NB. Conrad leaves behind his much loved three grandchildren: Erica, Kristina and John who adored him greatly and will dearly miss their Grandfather. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and by very special friends Lloyd and Sandra Kimball. Conrad was well known as a local businessman selling cars in Jacksonville for many years to the Woodstock, St. Stephen and Fredericton areas. He was well liked and had many special friends and will be deeply missed by all. Visiting at Carleton Funeral Home Co-operative in Jacksonville, NB, Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 6th, 2002 at 2 pm. Interment will take place at St. Ansgars Church Cemetery, New Denmark. Donations to the Heart and Stroke or Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
