HAGERMAN, IVA MYRTLE
On Thursday, December 20, 2001, at the Carleton Memorial
Hospital, Woodstock, NB, Iva Myrtle (Gartley) Hagerman of
Hartford, NB. Born November 19, 1912 to the late Alexander and Hilda (Greer)
Gartley. Survived by a
daughter Elva Davenport (Malcolm), Williamstown, NB, son Murray (Dilys)
Carleton Place, Ontario; two sisters, Muriel White, Williamstown,
NB, Evelyn Hovey, Ottawa, Ontario, grandchildren, Donald
Davenport, Dana (Paula), Iris McDougal, (Randy), Corey Davenport,
Carrie, Laura and David (Hagerman). Great grandchildren Sara,
Andrew, Spencer, Lacey, Hanna, Wyatt, several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband John, and children Arnold
and Audrey. Resting at the Carleton Funeral Home, Jacksonville,
NB, where friends may call on Friday, 21st, from 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, 22nd at 2 p.m. from the
Funeral Home with Rev. Bob McNutt officiating. Interment will be
in the Lindsay cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to
the Canadian Cancer Society or to a memorial of the donor's

HALL, AMBROSE ALEXANDER -
Suddenly at his residence in Johnville on Thursday May 1, 2003.
Ambrose Alexander Hall passed away at the age of 95. Born in
Johnville, he was the son of the late James and Rosanne McCready
Hall. Ambrose was the last surviving member of his immediate
family. Ambrose is survived by daughters Catherine (Albert)
Kinney of Terrace, B.C., Mary Hall of Johnville, sons, William (Wendy)
of Johnville, Thomas (Karen) and Francis (Cindy) both of Calgary
and John (Margaret) of Fredericton Junction. 18 grandchildren,
one great grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at
Kilcollins Funeral Home Bath, visiting Sunday May 4, 2003 from 2-4
& 7-9PM. Funeral mass will be Monday morning at 11AM from St.
John The Evangelist Church Johnville, Rev. Keith Nielsen
officiating. Interment to follow in the Johnville Cemetery. For

HALL, ALAN C.
Alan C. Hall of Lower Woodstock, on Thursday, December 18, 2003
at the Carleton Manor, Woodstock, NB. Alan was the son of the
late Herbert H. and Mary I. (Campbell) Hall. Born at Bedell
Settlement on September 7, 1914. He is survived by his wife
Evelyn (Price) Hall, sister-in-law Elva Hall and nephew Sheldon
Hall. Predeceased by a sister Anna Bell, brother Harold Hall.
Alan operated the original family farm in Bedell Settlement for
most of his life. He took pride in his farming and woodlot
operations. His quality hay and oats were successfully marketed
in the eastern USA. Following retirement he and wife Evelyn moved
to Lower Woodstock. He built his own carpenter shop and garage
and for several years made furniture and other wood products.
Alan found great satisfaction in working with wood and was so
pleased when recipients of his work placed it in their homes.
Remains resting at The Culberson Funeral Home, 188 Connell
Street, Woodstock, NB (506-325-1130) with visitation on Saturday,
December 20, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be
held on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at 2 p.m. from The Culberson
Funeral Chapel, Woodstock. Pastor Leonard Cousins officiating.
Interment will be at McKenzie Corner United Church Cemetery in
the spring. In Alan's memory donations can be made to the donors

HALLETT, HELEN M. -
Helen M. Hallett of Mount Pleasant, NB, passed away at the Saint
John Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 8, 2004. She is
survived by her husband Blair Hallett, of Mount Pleasant, NB,
children Brent (Nancy) Hallett of Wicklow, NB, Terri (Gil) Basque
of Saskatoon, SK, Wayne (Valerie) Hallett of Saint John, NB,
Cathy (Marvin) Brawn of Saint John, NB, Lori (Doug) Grant of
Toronto, ON, six grandchildren, sisters, Joyce McInnis, Betty
DeLong, Shirley Kennedy, and nieces and nephews. Resting at the
Britton Funeral Home, High Street, Hartland with visiting hours
on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. Funeral service will be held on
Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. from the Lorne Britton Memorial Chapel in
Hartland.

Of Woodstock passed away at his home on Monday, June 10, 2002, at
the age of 51. Robert is survived by his wife Judy Hamilton two
sons Scott Hamilton and his wife Angela; Kyle Hamilton all of
Woodstock, NB; one brother Ross Hamilton and his wife Roxanne of
Calgary,AB; one sister Anna Vienneau and her husband Jerry of
Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews. Resting at The Scott

Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held on

HANNAH, C. ROBERT "BOB"-
The death of Mr. C. Robert "Bob" Hannah, husband to
Nelda M. (Dow) Hannah of Saint John, occurred on Thursday, May 2,
2002. Born in Jacksonville, NB, he was the son of the late Robert W.
and Wilma J. (Palmer) Hannah. Bob graduated from Jacksonville High School
and Carleton County Vocational School and worked in Saint John,
before joining the RCAF in 1943. Bob served overseas for two
years during the Second World War as a Dakota pilot assigned to
air transport between England, the continent and India. After his
graduation from the University of New Brunswick, with a B.Sc. in
Civil Engineering, he worked for the New Brunswick Department of
Highways, the City of Saint John and James F. MacLaren Associates
before joining Godfrey Associates Ltd. in the late 1950\rquote s.
Bob retired in 1990 as the firm\rquote s Vice-President. He was a
life member of the Association of Professional Engineers and
Geoscientists of New Brunswick and a past member of the Atlantic
Canada Water Works Association. Bob was respected by his peers in
the New Brunswick construction and engineering communities for
his integrity and expertise. Besides his wife, he is survived by
two sons, Kenneth W. (Joyce) of Grand Bay-Westfield and Carl R. (Patty)
of Beckley, West Virginia, one daughter, Paula J. Mathieson of
Saint John, five grandchildren, Kendra Hannah of Saint John,
Robin Mathieson of Halifax, NS, Jason (Melissa) Hannah of
Fredericton, Krystal Mathieson of Saint John and Carly Mackenzie
Hannah of Beckley, West Virginia, one brother, Arthur W. Hannah (Dorothy)
of Montreal, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by
his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Winston Reid of
Jacksonville, NB. Bob was a long-standing member of Waterloo
Street Baptist Church. As an avid golfer, he enjoyed his many
years as a member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club. Bob
will be remembered with love by his many friends and family.
Resting at Brenan\rquote s Select Community Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday
only 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at
Brenan\rquote s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 6, 2002 at 2:15
PM. Following cremation, interment will take place in Fernhill
Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the

Gerald Chester Harris of Woodstock passed away at Carleton
Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Monday, January 20, 2003, at
the age of 67. Gerald is survived by his wife Betty Anne Harris;
his mother Hazel Harris of Woodstock, NB; one son Michael (Teresa)
Harris of Newburg, NB; two daughters, Cindy (Stephen) Lockard of
Woodstock, NB;, Cheryl (Donnie) Barrett of Richmond Settlement,

HARRIS, GENEVA -
Of Lower Knoxford, age 87, passed away at the Carleton Memorial
Hospital on April 17, 2003. She was the wife of the late Orin
Harris. She leaves behind her daughter Sharon (Vinal) Lawrence of
Lower Knoxford; her sister Annie Chase of Plaster Rock; three
grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Resting at Brunswick
Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral
service will be held on Sunday at 2 pm from the Tobique Chapel in

HARTLEY SR. , LOREN W.
MILLINOCKET - Loren W. Hartley Sr., 92, died peacefully at Orono
Commons health-care facility, Wednesday, May 8, 2002. He was born
in Tracy Mills, New Brunswick, Sept. 26, 1909, the son of James
and Jennie (Brooker) Hartley. At the age of 14 Loren moved
to Connecticut for a time, then returned to Millinocket in 1929.
It was then he married his wife of 68 years, Bessie Clark. She
predeceased him in November of 1997.
He became a U.S. citizen on April 5, 1939. Mr. Hartley worked for
Great Northern Paper Company for 35 years retiring as a
Millwright in 1972. He enjoyed his shop and working and helping
his children. He was very much involved with his grandchildren
and their horses, traveling to horse shows and making many
friends and acquaintances. His dog, Buffy was a constant
companion to him for many years. Loren will be missed by many. He
is survived by three children, Loren W. Hartley Jr. and wife,
Lanna (Lyons) of Millinocket, Floyd Hartley and wife, Glendora of
Millinocket, and Beulah and husband, Pat Biron of Seabrook, N.H.;
eight grandchildren, three step-grand-children, 21 great-grandchildren,
four step-great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers, Mathias, Ralph,
Clint, and Earle; four sisters; Madeline, Beatrice, Leota, and
Frances; three grandchildren, Loren III, Carol Jean, and Gail;
two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St.,
Millinocket, from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 10. Funeral services will
be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the funeral home, with the

died Aug. 9, 2001, at the Maine Veteran's Home, Bangor. He was
born March 5, 1932, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Robert T. and Laura (Anderson)
Harvey. He
was a lifelong resident of Corinth, and graduated from East
Corinth Academy in 1951. Carroll worked as a carpenter most of
his life, and raised many farm animals. He was predeceased by a
son, Carl Harvey; and a brother, Charles. He is survived by four
children, Shirley Rollins and her husband, Allen of Exeter, Donna
Teal and her husband, Roy of Signal Mountain, Tenn., Wendall
Harvey and his wife, Kimberly of Corinth, Linda Cagle and her
husband, Todd of Aurora, Colo.; grandchildren, Amanda and Jeremy
Rollins, Justin Teal, Nicholas and Kaylee Harvey, Sara and Andrew
Cagle; sisters, Margaret Colachico of Wakefield, Mass., Geraldine

HARVEY, CARL MURRAY -
Passed away June 21, 2002 at Canterbury, NB he was 38. Carl
Harvey of Upper Woodstock, NB was born on May 29, 1964 to Robert and Barbara (Tweedie)
Harvey. He
is survived by his two children, Brittany and Andrew, his
parents, two sisters, Brenda (Tony) Nestoruk of New Berge, NB and
Alice Johnston of Woodstock, NB, three brothers, Wayne (Geraldine)
of Woodstock, NB, Frederick (Bonnie) of Regina, Sask., and Bobby
of Vancouver, BC. His grandparents predeceased him. Visitation
will take place at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road,
Jacksonville, NB from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral service will
be held Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at 2:00 PM from the funeral home
with Rev. Maynard Rector officiating. Interment will take place

Hatfield, Dr. George R.
"Dr.
George R. Hatfield, a prominent medical practioner and
psychiatrist, born in Peel, Carleton County, died in hospital
yesterday in London, Ont. He was 75. Dr. Hatfield lived and
worked for 40 years in Saint John and then moved to London eight
years ago. He is a cousin of Premier Richard Hatfield. He held
degrees from Aurora College, Ill., Dalhousie University and John
Hopkins University. From 1936 to 1972 he occupied various
positions with the provincial department of health including
district health officer, director of venereal disease control and
director of communicable disease control. He broke new ground in
Canadian medicine in 1936 as the first doctor to make use of
insulin coma therapy in the treatment of schizophrenics. He
served at the former Saint John Provincial Hospital, now
Centracare, for 26 years, for a time as regional medical director.
He was regional mental health director for Region 2, which
includes Saint John, Charlotte and Kings Counties and five
parishes in Queens County. In 1973 he became senior staff
psychiatrist at the West Saint John Community Hospital, retiring
in 1975. He was a member of the Saint John Medical Society, the
Canadian Medical Association, the Canadian Psychiatric
Association, the Canadian Mental Health Association and was a
charter member of the Saint John Lions Club. He took an active
part in all phases of the hospital, especially pastrol care.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lorraine Powers; two sons,
George Jr., London, Ont., and Brian, Toronto; one daughter, Mrs.
James Carpeneta (Margaret), Ontario, and several grandchildren
and great grandchildren. The funeral will be held in London and
funeral arrangements will be announced."

HATFIELD, SHELDON ROY
Of Woodstock passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital on
Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at the age of 65, after a courageous
battle with cancer. His faith in God was an inspiration to those
who were fortunate enough to know him. Sheldon is survived by his
loving wife Pam; on son Steven Hatfield of Woodstock; two
daughters, Melanie (Derek) Sewell of Wakefield, NB and Corrie (Ryan)
Astle of Fredericton, NB; two sisters Leota Strong of Woodstock,
NB and Phyllis Phillips of Fredericton, NB; he is also survived
by three grandchildren Joshua, Jordan and Kaylee, who he dearly
loved. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street,
Woodstock, with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral
service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. from Calvary United
Pentecostal Church. Rev. David Gee will be officiating with

HATFIELD, SHELDON ROY
Sheldon Roy Hatfield passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in
Woodstock, NB on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 after a courageous
battle with cancer. Born in Windsor, NB on Sept. 2, 1936, he was
the son of
the late Sank and Flora Hatfield. He graduated from Woodstock
High school and attended Mount Allison University for one year.
He was employed at Ferro's Pharmacy and later worked at Atlantic
Wholesalers. For the last sixteen years he was an insurance agent
for Combined Insurance Company until his retirement in 2002.
Sheldon is survived by his loving wife Pam of thirty-five years,
one son Steven Hatfield of Woodstock, NB, two daughters Melanie (Derek)
Sewell of Wakefield, NB and Corrie (Ryan) Astle of Fredericton,
NB; two sisters Leota Strong of Woodstock, NB and Phyllis
Phillips of Fredericton, NB. He is also survived by three
grandchildren Joshua, Jordan and Kaylee Sewell; four nieces and
three nephews. Sheldon was a very hardworking and thoughtful man
who dearly loved his family. He was a devoted husband and father
and enjoyed being a Grampie. He was actively involved in his
church and served as Sunday School Secretary for many years. He
will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Funeral services
were held July 27, 2002 at Calvary United Pentecostal Church,
Woodstock, NB with Rev. David Gee(Calvary UPC) officiating.
Pianist for the congregational singing was Amy Beth Gee. The
congregation joined the family in singing two favorite songs,
"As the Deer" and "I'm Going Home With Jesus".
There were two soloists Rhonda Sanders("Special") and
Melanie Sewell("I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy"),
and one duet by Daniel and Ruth McKillop. The Eulogy was written
and given by Corrie Astle. Pallbearers were LaFaye Lawson, Jason
Miller, Glen Mean, Kirk Lappage, Roger Way and Peter Wasson, all
good friends of the family and members of Calvary United
Pentecostal Church. Interment took place in the Woodstock Rural
Cemetery.

The death of Delbert Ashley Hayes of Carsonville occurred
December 6, 2003 at his home. He was born August 28, 1930 at
Summerfield, NB a son of the late Warren and Iola (Boyd) Hayes.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Thelma Constance (Mason)
Hayes, daughters Debbie Benson (Tony) of Sussex, Sherri Townsend
of Fredericton, Jean Hayes of Carsonville, Thelma Folkins (Cecil)
of Mount Middleton and Heather Dalling (Gregg) of Waterford, sons
Warren (Brenda) Hayes of Woodstock, Danny Hayes, Everett (Dale)
Hayes and David Hayes all of Carsonville, eighteen grandchildren
and eight great grandchildren, sister Erma Sears (Wayne) of
Salisbury, brothers Gordon (Isabel) Hayes of Summerfield, Blake (Jean)

Besides his parents he was predeceased by an infant daughter
Valerie Bernice, great granddaughter Gabrielle and a sister

held Tuesday December 9, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the Sussex Wesleyan

November 15, 2002, at the age of 73. Rose is survived by her
husband Hermon Haynes; one son Malcolm (Helen) Haynes of
Plymouth, N.B.; three daughters, Janet Hargrove of Courtice, ON;
Esther (Lewis) Patterson of Oshawa, ON; Debbie (William) Hayes of
Woodstock, N.B; three sisters, Helen (Fern) Chartrand of Montreal
PQ; Jessie (Fernand) Richer of Montreal PQ; Esther McLachlan of
Paris ON; grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Rose was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Janet Ward; one son Brian Haynes; brother

At the Pine Grove Nursing Home on Saturday October 12, 2002,
Ashley Robert Hemphill of Fredericton passed away at the age of
86. Born in Benton, N.B., he was a son of the late Robert and
Pearl (Porter) Hemphill. He was a member of Grace Memorial United
Baptist Church as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge for over

and a carpenter. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Burnis L. (London)
Hemphill; two daughters, Vicki Wilson (Trent) and Valerie
Demerchant (Brian), all of Fredericton; five grandchildren, Jason
Rosborough, Jessica Rosborough, Jessica Rosborough, Heaven
Wilson, Tyler Demerchant and Kalsey Demerchant; two sisters,
Myrtle Clark of Moncton and Olga Mazolla of California; numerous
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Georgie and
brothers, Burns, Lloyd, Billy, Alden and Orland. Resting at
Bishop's Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Tuesday
from 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home
chapel on Wednesday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson
officiating. Interment will be in the Woodstock Cemetery, Old
Houlton Road. For those who wish memorials may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a

HOULTON and LITTLETON Audrey H. Henderson, 87, went home to be
with her Lord, May 11, 2001. She was born in Wicklow, N.B.,
Canada, April 20, 1914, the daughter of Beecher and Rose (Lockhart)
Hutchinson.
Audrey felt that Littleton was always her home. She received her
education from Ricker, Aroostook State Normal School, and the
University of Maine, Orono. She taught school in Littleton and
was a member of the Littleton Baptist Church. She was a giving,
caring person who always thought of others. In November of 1939,
she married Hartley A. Henderson and they were married for 49
years until Hartley's death in November of 1988.
Audrey is survived by one son, Harold Henderson of San Francisco,
Calif.; two daughters, Barbara Carlin and her husband, James of
Freeport, Betty Cummings and her husband, David of Houlton; one
brother, Claude Hutchinson of Grand Lake; five sisters, Lena
Simpson, Mary Henderson and Hazel Tingley, all of Littleton, Jean
McBride and Ruth Crone, both of Houlton. Audrey is also survived
by six grandchildren, Heath and Hayes Henderson, James Carlin,
Carl Cummings, Kim (Cummings) DeWitt and Keri Hanning; seven
great-grandchildren, Autumn, Nicole, Corey, Jace, Hunter, Lily
and Amelia; two special friends, Cedric and Emily Shaw of
Littleton. She was predeceased by her husband, Hartley; a
brother, Albert Hutchinson; and a sister, Iva Henderson.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at Dunn
Funeral Home, Houlton, with the Rev. Steven Straubel and the Rev.
Burton Hoyt officiating. Interment will be in Littleton Cemetery.

Passed away peacefully in her home on July 30, 2002 at the age of
98. Mother of Mary Elizabeth. Grandmother of Scott (Carolyn),
Katie (Doug), Jody and Jaime. Greatgrandmother of Taylor and
Alexander John. Pre-deceased by brothers and sisters Edgar, Ruth,
Thelma, Marie, Russell, Jack, Robert, John. Survived by sister
Olga, brother Donnie and many nieces and nephews. The family
wishes to express profound gratitude to Rose and Roger Bourque
who have been Gram's caregivers for the past four years. Their
devotion and friendship have been invaluable. Marguerite was a
teacher and friend of many graduates of Saint John Vocational
School who have recently established a scholarship in her honour.

HILL, MERVILLE EULAS
The death of Merville E. Hill of Island View, NB occurred at the
Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, September 19th, 2002.
Born on March 2nd, 1917 in Cloverdale, NB, he was the son of the late Jarvis and
Nellie (MacGeorge) Hill. Merville was a graduate of the Provincial
Normal School in 1936. Later, he received his Bachelor of
Education from UNB and his Masters in Education at Columbia
University in New York. He was also a Beaverbrook Scholar. During
his 38 years of teaching, Merville held positions at Rothesay
Collegiate, Dorchester, Oromocto, Gagetown and several schools in
the York, Carleton and Restigouche counties. One of his most
memorable teaching positions was at Rothesay Collegiate.
Predeceasing are his parents, Jarvis and Nellie. Surviving are
numerous relatives and friends from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia
and California, who will miss him dearly. There will be no
visitation by request. A memorial interment will be held at a
later date at the Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements have been

Mr. Donald Ralph Holyoke of Saint John, beloved husband of Hilda
P. (Shuve) Holyoke, died peacefully at home surrounded by family
on Thursday, September 26, 2002, following a courageous battle
with cancer. Born in Woodstock, NB, he was the son of the late William Ralph
and Grace (Smalley) Holyoke. Following his graduation from the University
of New Brunswick with an Engineering degree in 1946, Donald was
employed with NB Tel for over 43 years and retired in 1985. He
was an avid stamp collector, an NB Tel Pioneer, a member of the
Association of Professional Engineers, a founding member of the
174 Civilian Rifle Association, a senior member of the Saint John
Fish and Game Association, and an instructor with the Canadian
Power Squadron. Don loved the peace and serenity of the River.
Besides his wife of 50 years, Hilda, he is survived by two
daughters, Margaret A. Holburn of Saint John and Carolyn S.
Holyoke of Ottawa, currently assigned to the Canadian High
Commission in Kingston, Jamaica, one son, Wm. Ralph Holyoke (Karen)
of Saint John, two grandchildren, which he adored, Jennifer and
Scott Holburn, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and
friends are invited to a memorial service on Monday, September 30,
2002 at 1:00 PM from Brenan\rquote s Select Community Funeral

Waterloo. Fondly remembered by her granddaughter Deborah
Saccoccia and her husband Peter and their sons Michael and
Douglas; sister of Mary DeWolfe and her husband Jim of Riverview,
NB; many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by
her daughter Anne Bertram; brother Dewitt Blakeney; and sisters

AUGUSTA Olga "Jean" Humphrey, 91, formerly of
Vassalboro, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at MaineGeneral
Rehabilitation at Gray Birch in Augusta.
She was born March 7, 1909, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Hans Wilson and
Jennie Myrtle (Gray) MacKenzie, and attended New Brunswick
schools.
Jean married Alton E. Humphrey, April 22, 1934, and together they
raised their only child Joan.
Jean and her husband, Alton Humphrey, ran their own fuel oil
business in Vassalboro for many years before she became employed
by the state of Maine. She remained employed by the bureau of
public improvements for nearly 30 years before her retirement.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband in 1971, daughter,
Joan Gay, in 1995, brother, Oren MacKenzie, in 1985, and a
granddaughter, Melody Gay, in 1975.
Jean is survived by her six grandchildren, Harvard Gay Jr., of
Windham, Edward Gay, of Lewiston, Melinda Simon, of Gardiner,
Dean Gay, of Winslow, Dana Gay, of Gorham, and nine great-grandchildren.
At her request there will be no visiting hours. A family
graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery at a later
date. Arrangements are under the care of Pine State Cremation
Service in Richmond.

HYGAARD, RUSSELL
Russell Hygaard of Grafton passed away at Carlton Memorial
Hospital in Woodstock on Friday, May 10, 2002 at the age of 69.
Russ is survived by his wife Randi Hygaard: three sons, Stephen
Hygaard of Ottawa, ON; Michael Hygaard (Brigitta) of Rollingdam,
NB; Brent Hygaard (Tamami) of Victoria, BC; two brothers: Hjalmar
ygaard of Crystal Beach, ON; Richard Hygaard of Thunder Bay, ON;
two sisters: twin sister June Nettenbeek of Fort Lauderdale, FL;
Elaine Hygaard of Thunder Bay ON; and one grandson Barclay
Thurston Hygaard, the first. There is another great hockey player
in heaven now. Russ Hygaard succumbed after a lengthy battle with
complications of diabetes. Russ was a beloved family man whose
generosity touched many peoples lives. He was a man that enjoyed
a great hockey career mixed with 29 years service to Canada
starting in 1950 with the RCAF. Russ was a Shriner. He was Known
as Zap when he entertained the children as a clown. The spirit of
human compassion, which lead to Russ donating his time and
resources to people in need throughout his life will be carried
on in his memory through Nepthjali Children's Foundation. There
was not a person whom he would not help or offer words of
encouragement with a very reverent smile. Resting at The Scott

Sunday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 3:00
p.m. from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fred Snyder will be
