John Edward Porter was the son of Judson and Mary Phillips Porter. He married Nellie Brown in May 17 1903 at Campobello. Nellie was the daughter of William O. Brown and Clara Searles. They had been married for 65 years when John died in 1968 at Campobello. Nellie passed ten years later in 1978. They lived on Campobello all of there married life and had a family of 7 children..
