PERRY- Katheryn Stevenson, 76, beloved wife of Charles WW. Stevenson, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2003. She died at her home in Perry surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was born Oct.19, 1926, in Campobello, N.B., the daughter of Merton and Viola (Langmaid) Newman. She was a devoted Christian whose faith in God never faltered throughout her illness. She worked for many years at Guilford Industries in Quoddy Village, at B.H. Wilson Fisheries in Eastport and the A&P in Eastport. She also worked as a caregiver for Ethel Corbett of Perry for many years. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Percy and Winslow Newman. Surviving are her husband, Charles Stevenson of Perry; three daughters, Elizabeth Harding and her husband, William, of Lamoine, Dorothy Turner and her husband, David, of Perry, and Nancy Manchester and her husband, Danny, of Machias; four sisters, Ferne Mitchell of Eastport, Eleen Newman of Campobello, N.B., Constance Fleet of Campobello, N.B. and Bellmon Pendleton and her husband,Keith, of Deer Island, N.B.; and one brother, Neil Newman and his wife, Hazel, of Campobello, N.B. She will also be missed by nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her church family, friends and neighbors. At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. May 6, 2003, at the Hillside Cemetery in Eastport, with Pastor Bruce Cummings officiating. Friends who wish may make donationns in her memory to the CHCS Hospice Program, RR1, Box 339A, Machias, Me 04654; or to Calais Regional Hospital, Calais, Me.
