Laura Ann appears in various census records as "Dorothy Sirles". It is not clear when she changed her name to Laura Ann, she was also known by the nickname "Dollie". She was born abt 1840, to daughter of Jacob Sirles of Canada and Elizabeth Ramsdell from the U.S. It should also be noted that her surname has been spelt both "Sirles" and "Searles". She died at Wilson's Beach, Campobello on Feb. 2, 1928. She is buried there beside her husband Charles Henry Fletcher, whom she had married in Portland Maine on May 24 1865.
