August 22, 1878, Sylvester Mitchell, native of Campobello, lost
on the Banks from schooner Ossippee.
March 25, 1879, George Perking, married, one child, native of
Campobello, dory
capsized while going ashore at Bliss Harbor, NB, schooner Ernest
B. Norwood.
March 25, 1879, David B. Tinker, single, native of Campobello,
dory capsized
while going ashore at Bliss Harbor, NB, schooner Ernest B.
Norwood.
December 1886, Leverett Tinker, single, native of Campobello, was
lost on Grand Banks with entire crew during the Christmas Eve or
New Year's Eve gale, schooner Virginia Dare
November 22, 1888, Robert Newman, Captain, age 28, married,
native of Campobello, master
of schooner James and Ella, lost off Petit Manan.
May 13, 1892, Arthur McLellan, age 23, single, native of
Campobello, dory
strayed on the Banks from schooner Edward P. Boynton.
February 20, 1894, Alexander Stewart, single, native of
Campobello, off
Banquero, schooner Resolute.
February 20, 1894, Tracy Preston, age 34, married, native of
Campobello, off
Banquero, schooner Resolute.
April 12, 1896, Dennis J. Mcguire, married, native of Campobello,
schooner J. W.
Campbell lost off Long Island, New York with entire crew.
January 1903, Edward "Ted" Lank,
widower, native of Campobello lost on the Banks, from the
schooner Daisy Linden
June 16, 1908, James McShara, age 53, married, native of
Campobello, received
fatal injuries from explosion while lying at Chisholms
Wharf in Gloucester;
crewman of schooner Alert. (The owner and
master of The Alert was Capt. Almon D. Malloch. Could he be
related to the Campobello Mallochs?? There was a second man
killed, in the explosion as well,
Valentine Ledwell, native of Nfld. Also 8 men injured.)
