Blan was born in December 1870 at Saint John, to Charles Henry Fletcher and Dorothy (Dollie) Searles. His birth name was Bartholomew but was known as Blan throughout his life. He was married to Arelia "Rhea" Tinker. They had four sons and a daughter,son Blankney Glendon b. 1913 d, 1914 and Roxey FMC b. 1917d. 1918 and all buried in Campobello.The other sons were Varnal, Maurice and Blan Irvin .
