The Campobello library was established in 1887. The present building (above) was constructed in 1898. The room currently being used as the museum was added in 1899 and is located at the back of this building. The children's room (of the left of this photo) was added in 1967. In 1974 it joined a regional system. Between 1982-1989 it was restored by the people of Campobello.
The current hours of operation are as follows and are in Atlantic Standard time: Tuesday 2-5, 7-9pm; Wednesday 10-12, 2-4pm; Thursday 2-5pm; Friday 2-5pm. The address for the library is 3 Welshpool Street, Welshpool, NB E5E 1G3. Phone 506-752-7082.
Stephanie Milburn is the current librarian and would like to expand on the genealogical section of the library and place there resources on a shelf where they can be easily found and moved from there current position of a filing cabinet. While recently on the island I made a donation of a number of records that are located here on the site including the census records as well as other vital statistics, obituaries and some family reports.
