WILLIAM (OLD BILL) WILLIAMS was born October 25, 1803 in Weakley County, Tennessee, and died May 14, 1894 in Ranger, Eastland County, Texas.  He is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery, Ranger, Eastland County, Texas.  He married (1) MARY ISAACKS about 1825.  She died/or went back to the Cherokee tribe about 1827.  He married (2) LUCINDA JANE (CINDERELLA) SHAW OR BEAN about 1827 in Nacogdoches, Cohuila Y Texas, Mexico.  She was born April 19, 1809 in Tennessee, and died 1890 in Ranger, Eastland County, Texas.  She is  buried in the Pioneer Cemetery, Ranger, Eastland County, Texas.   It is thought he might have had one child with Mary Isaacks but that she took the child back with her when she returned to the Cherokee tribe.

"Born in 1798 in Tennessee (per two censuses); is said to have married Mary Isaacks (who was 1/2 Cherokee) and second wife was Lucinda Bean.  He appears on the Municipality of Nacogdoches census; enumerated as Guillermo Guilian (age 28), wife Lucinda (age 25), and children:

        1.     Omi (age 7)

        2.        Guillermo (age 5)

        3.     Tomas (age 3).

The family appears on the 1835 Williams Settlement census as William Williams (age 38), wife Lucinda (age 25) and children:

        1.     Naomi (age 7)

        2.     William (age 5)

        3.     Thomas Jefferson (age 3)

        4.     Russell (age 21 months)

        5.     Mary (age 2 months)

The family is on the 1859 census of Rusk County; has was age 52, born in Tennessee; wife Genrilla?, age 41 born in Georgia.  In Limestone County 1860, William was age 62, born in Tennessee (parents born in Tennessee); wife Cinderella, age 50, born in Missouri.  In Eastland County 1880 William was age 75, born in Tennessee; wife Cinderella was age 72, born in Tennessee.  Known children of William Williams, all born in Texas:

        14.   Young L., born 1855, died 1933, married in Hill County on December 5, 1877, Margaret Isabell Hutchinson, born 1858, died 1920, both buried in the Pioneer Cemetery,

        Ranger, Eastland County, Texas; lived in Eastland County in 1880.  She was the daughter of

                Wilson  & Margaret (Estes) Hutchinson (see p. 467).  In Limestone County

                1860, William Williams had a Mount Calm PO (Hill

                County).  In Eastland County 1880 a grandson, Russell

                B. Williams, born about 1869 lived in their household.

"William Williams, the youngest son of Thomas Williams, received from the Mexican government his head right league of land on October 10, 1834, in which he states that he has a wife and four children, (Nacogdoches County Deed Records, Vol. C, p. 343).  in 1836, William Williams served under Captain Michael Costley for 3 months from September 11 to December 11, 1836, in his First Company of Texas Rangers.  In 1838, he made application to the Nacogdoches County Board of Land Commissioners and obtained his labor of land, in which Alston Ferguson and Adolphus Sterne testified that they had 'known him 4 years, lives in this county and has a family'."

Note written later:  William Williams found the first church (Christian) in Mt. Calm, Tx.  Information detained from Hazel Hale? as handed down to her from her Aunt Rosa Leonard Williams

Also at the Mount Calm Library are copies of an old Masonic demit dated 1852 from Mt. Enterprise, Rusk County, signed by William Fields and also a copy of an old handwritten document from Rusk County, dated September 13, 1852 regarding the Christian church  stating that William Williams "is a member of the Christian church in this place and in full fellowship at this time and such???? (probably a letter recommending membership to a Christian church in the area where they moved to - i.e., Mount Calm).

 Know all men by these presents that I Mary Williams of Lawrence County have this day for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to me in have paid by Robert Bean granted, bargained and sold unto the said Robert Bean all my right title claim and interest of my? and to a certain settlement and preemption right of land situated lying and being in the aforesaid county of Lawrence on the south side of the white river on what is called the Cherokee lands which said settlement and improvement was made by Mary Williams prior to the 12th day of April 1814/1819? - to have and to hold the said settlement and improvement together with the right of preemption thereto unto the said Robert Bean his heirs and agency? with singular? the rights benefits privileges therein to belonging or in any wase appertaining - Witness by hand and seal the 6th day of March 1819
