FAMILY OF HENRY HARRISON REED AND EDELINE G. JOY

HENRY HARRISON REED was born about 1814 in Kentucky. He is last found on 1880 Stephens Co. Texas census hh 171, and died between 1888 - 1892 possibly Moran, Shackleford Co. Texas. He married EDELINE G. JOY 1841 in New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Newton County, MO, daughter of GEORGE JOY and his first wife. She was born January 21, 1821 in Franklin County, Illinois-1860 Burnet Co, TX census states Tennessee, and died between 1888 - 1892.

Henry Harrison Reed, George Joy, James A. Joy and William D. Reed are found on the 1845 Barksdale's 1845 report.* Either they moved on by 1846 or a bit later, as Burnet and Williamson Counties were where the rest of this family emigrated to.

Mary E. Reed - born about 1847 in Williamson County, Texas. Family researchers say she might have drowned in the Pecos River.
Joseph P. Reed - born about 1848. Nothing further is known of this son.

John George Reed - born about 1856. Nothing further is known of this son.
Rebekka Reed - born about 1860 in Burnet County, Texas. Nothing further is known of this daughter.

SARAH A. REED was born about 1818 in Washington County, Arkansas, and died in Texas. She married SETH G. KENNISON about 1842 in New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Neosho, Newton County, MO. He was born about 1818 in Massachusetts-on 1850, 1860 census of Burnet Co., TX hh 34, and died in Texas. They appear not to have had any children.

Notes for SETH G. KENNISON:

Served in the Mexican War in James S. Gillet's Company - 2nd service. Mustered in Camp Arbuckle, Texas 16 June 1848 - 16 December 1848. He was listed as 2nd Sergeant, age 30.
