EPHRAIM LEE was born September 09, 1787 in East Tennessee/ (Greene County) Virginia, and died October 25, 1852 in McLennan or Navarro County, Texas.  He married NANCY BROOKS WILLIAMS April 02, 1816 in Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee.  She was born October 11, 1802 in Georgia-Martelia Cochran gives parents as Lilburn Williams & Mary G. Thompson.

 RESEARCH/OBSERVATION NOTES:  If indeed father William Lee is descended from immigrant Richard Lee of Virginia, this line would be found in old Buckingham County, Virginia and environs.  There is a book detailing this line (which deals mainly with the Lees of Buckingham Co.) that stayed in Virginia.  The book is ANCESTORS AND DESCENDANTS OF GRESHAM LEE OF BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA, BY RICHARD EDWARD LEE, 108 WORLEY DRIVE, MADISON HEIGHTS, VA 24572 - published for the author by Gateway Press, Inc. 1001 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202, 1991.  Copies are still available.  This copy was initially located in the Dallas Public Library Genealogical Section - downtown Dallas.

It must be noted that nowhere is it stated (but is inferred) that the will of William Lee d. 1810, must be extant in records of Tennessee.  NOTE:  This will is in Russell County, Virginia.

Also upon a visit to the Fort Belknap Cemetery, Graham, Young County, Texas, I noted some of the burials were Lees and Whiteleys.

FROM DESCENDANT LARRY RODERICK:

A Naomi Barlow, age 7, was living in the household of Ephraim and Nancy in 1850 in Navarro County, Texas.  She was shown as being born in Missouri?  Who was she?

Larry also believes that Ephraim's wife, Nancy Brooks Williams is the sister of Col. Leonard Williams, based on information in an obituary of Brooks Williams Lee, Senior in the Crosby newspaper, from the Brownwood Bulletin ca. 1894 which states he assisted is uncle, Col. Lon/Len Williams.  (This would indeed make Brooks a nephew to Leonard Williams!
