From there he went to Virginia and in 1694 moved to
the"sugar-land" in Stafford, Kentucky, and married Ann, his
first wife.
300 pounds of tobacco was offered for each wolf caught in pit or
trap.
In Novembver of 1694 he received a government grant of 500 acres
of land, the first title to laid in that name. Owsley County,
Kentucky was named for him.
He and his second wife, Mary, left five sons and three
daughters.
