"Dr. Susan Clark Slaymaker, Professor of Geology, California
State University, Sacramento, writes to Larry Reno, op. cit.,
that "Michael Harris married John Burgany about 1696 and had
sons John and Peter. Her first husband died in 1713. She later
married Richard Parker (which is why Peter Burgany refers to his
mother Mica Parker in his 1734 will). I suppose she could have
been married to a Floyd in between her Burgany and Parker
husbands and had a son William Floyd (maybe her husband was the
Edward Floyd who administered John Burgany's estate in 1713,
along with his wife Michael). It might be useful to examine the
records for the period from about 1713 to 1734 or so to find
evidence of an interim marriage.... "
So, we have Anna Cartlidge supposing that John Floyd married the
widow Burgomy and that they are perhaps the parents of William
Floyd of Amherst, born about 1721.
It might be that Michal (or Michael), born about 1682, married
first John Burgany who died in 1713. She then marries John
Floyd, who may have already been previously married, and William
arrives of this union in 1721 or so. His step brothers Peter and
John are a bit older than he is. At some point John Floyd dies,
and Michal then marries Richard Parker.
