Mother: Rachel GIBSON |
William Taylor, private, Va. Line, Mercer Co. KY. was pensioned
for Revolutionary services, Mar 4, 1831, at $70 per annum.
"William Gibson Taylor who was probably originally from Orange
Co., VA, born Jan 25, 1753, died abt. 1835 in Mercer Co., KY,
who married Lucy Hoard and they had a son John Taylor and a
daughter Elizabeth Taylor who married a Francis Taylor. I know
nothing else about the son John Taylor. I think this William
Taylor left Orange Co., VA, for KY before 1788 because the
Journal of Frances Edloe Taylor (of Orange Co., VA) has an entry
dated Sept. 8, 1788 saying he got a letter from his brother
William Taylor that day saying that he had a daughter born last
March (a letter and news that would not be necessary if William
Taylor was still living in Orange Co., VA, at the time)."
