Josie,
I found a cemetery record in Clarke Co., MS with some Goodwin
listed born in Alabama. It is the Peasant Grove Cemetery
records. They
give a John A. Goodwin b. Oct 15, 1827; d. July 1, 1896 and his
wife Emily b. May 22, 1822; d. Oct 3, 1894. There was also a
Emiline b. Nov. 4, 1827; d. Apr. 15, 1891, wife of J. E.Goodwin
. These seemed to be the oldest Goodwin's there. I looked on
the 1860 Census of Clarke Co., MS and found that J. E. and J. A.
with wives as given above. J.E. and J. A. were born in Alabama
and the wives were born in MS. There are many Goodwin's buried
there and the url is
www.netpathway.com/~jdmason/pleasantgrove_cem.htm just make
note you have to have the dash _that is between pleasantgrove
_and cem. and it does not show up as it is on line with the
hyperlink here. Gladys
Josie, Do you think these Goodwin born in Alabama were
descendants of the Goodwin that went from South Carolina? I
have this year looked at all the books of South carolina records
and getting all the Goodwin records I can to try to find
families. I want to see if I could get a
clue as to the parents of my g-g-gfather Samuel Goodwin b. 1785
SC. Gladys
