Johannes Fluck and wife Anna Mary Dui immigrated from Kreuznah or Mainz, Palatinate, Germany in 1744, along with four children. He died in Rockhill Twp., Bucks Co., PA in 1774. Several sources indicate he was born ca 1700 in Germany. Most continental European Flucks are Swiss, not German. The focus of their present-day concentration appears to be Brienz, Switzerland. My grandfather Titus Aaron Fluck said we were Swiss-German. A Johannes Fluck was born Dec. 2, 1694 in Dinhard, Zuerich, Switzerland, son of Daniel Fluck and wife Barbara Bachman. Could he be the Johannes Fluck who immigrated in 1744?

He emigrated from the area of Kreuznah or Mainz, just north of the then Palatinate in the Rhine Valley. He arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Phoenix, from Rotterdam, on 20 October 1774, along with family, according to Charles H. Price, Jr., 214 S. Main Street, Telford, PA 18969. Johannes likely served a period of apprenticeship to pay for his family's passage, then settled in Rockhill Township, Bucks County.

John signed the Oath of Allegiance in 1752, according to Mrs. Reba Mann Moyer, Perkasie, PA. The Flucks were members of the Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek, Montgomery Co., before 1759 (Price, 1966). On December 2, 1769, Hannah Freame of Philadelphia, a large landowner in Bucks Co., gave a deed for 92 acres and 57 perches of land to John (Flug) Fluck, bounded by the lands of Dietrich Welgar, Isaac Hunsberger, Henry Freed and the Freame Manor. In Bucks Coutny, the family belonged to the Tohickon Reformed Church. On February 24, 1775, Mary Fluck, John's widow, and Philip Fluck his son, are the Executors of his Will as recorded on that day. According to the PA Archives, Johannes' sons Jacob, Ludwick, John, and Casper Fluck were all privates from Rockhill Township under Capt. Andrew Kechline.
