Note: My 3 great grandfather, Rev. Newton L. Huff, Captain in
the Civil War, used the Bible in his preaching and it was passed
to his son, John Fletcher Huff, also a Civil War soldier, who
died in 1937. My grandfather, Newton L. Huff, was the last
owner, but it got lost somehow, and the records end with the
death of John Fletcher Huff. Only recently this Bible was found,
after the death of my great aunt. It was given to me since I am
compiling a family history . Mrs. Melvin B. Short
There are 4 Huff cemeteries, located in Amite County & Franklin
County, MS and Bonita, LA, recorded in MS Genealogical Society's
"Cemetery and Bible Records." Volume IX, pp134-136. One of these
is the Rev. Newton L. Huff graveyard in Meadville, Franklin Co.,
MS. See also, Mt. Vernon Methodist Church Cemetery, Gloster, MS,
this volume.

Adolphus Brown married Rebecca E. Kinneson April 28th 1850.
BIRTHS
Adolphis Brown born Sept. 27th 1821.
Rebecca E. Brown born Oct. 1st 1821.
Virginia Brown born Oct. 10th 1852.
(Next in line the following printed in a beautiful hand print,
different from the handwriting above)
John Huff, was borned Nov. 22nd 1845.
Ellen Huff was borned Jan. 27th 1869.
John F. Huff & Virginia R. Brown was married Feb. 17th 1868.
(The following in a different handwriting and with ink that
spread some in writing. No more marriages listed on this page
which is very ragged on the edges with some part of the bottom
design torn.)
Newton A. Huff was born May 6 A.D. 1871.
Johnnie F. Huff was born March 27th A.D. 1873.
Malissa Huff was born Feb. 8th A.D. 1875.
Alice Irene Huff was borned Nov. 5, 1876.
(On the reverse is the following written at the top of the page)
"Presented to Mrs. Rebecca Brown by A. Brown Feb. 10th 1859.
