Notes

Hypothical Ancestor Family of our William Collinsworth" In 1691 John and Thomas Collingsworth of Westmoreland Co. were granted 200 acres of land (Land Grants by the Proprietors of the North Neck of VA).

In 1690 THOMAS (1), planter of Westmoreland Co.VA, made his will naming wife Jane, two sons Thomas and John under 18yrs and son-in-law JOHN DAVIS. In this case John Davis was not the husband of his daughter but rather, in modern usage, his stepson.

Jane Collinsworth was previously married to Thomas Davies and had a son John (Dorman's Westmoreland Co. Order Book). On Sep 28, 1693 Jane Collinsworth petitioned to allow her to slaughter a cow or steer in order to feed her children. Permission was granted but she was admonished to exercise caution so as not to deplete the stock of the heirs. On Oct. 20, 1695, John Collinsworth petitioned the court to grant him his inheritance as he was "18 years old August last."

On Oct. 30, 1695 John Collinsworth petitioned the court to grant him his inheritance as he was "18 years old August last."

In 1691 John and Thomas or Westmoreland Co. were granted 200 acres of land (Land Grants by the Proprietors of the North Neck of VA). [S11] [S11]
