"in depositions in Chancery Suit of William L. Otey, et als.,
vs. William Leftwich, et als.; he deposes in the year 1838 and
states that he is in his 61st year".."will dated Aug. 14, 1843,
probated in Bedford county, VA
July 28, 1845."...With reference to the property of Rev. James
Turner of Bedford Co., VA (father of first wife Elizabeth
Turner) on Aug. 27, 1828 satisfactory evidence was introduced
before the court to prove that William Hopkins, Sally P. Walker,
Ann Brown, John Hopkins and Martha Hopkins are the children and
heirs of Elizabeth Hopkins, dec'd."
..."It is said that Price Hopkins was in the War 1812. A
statement of the County Levy for the year 1810 shows that Price
Hopkins was paid for twelve hours patrolling at seventy-five
cents per hour. (Orders 1809-1811, Bedford Co.)"
