In the 1820 Census of Union Co. SC James M. Martin was enumerated on p. 145 and a James L. Martin was enumerated on p. 127. Both were age over 26.


After 1820, James M. Martin migrated to Jasper Co. GA, where there was another, different James L. Martin. In 1827, in Jasper Co. both drew Lots in the GA Land Lottery and they both removed to Lee/Randolph Co. GA. As of this date the parents of James L. Martin have not been identified and the relationship is undetermined.


Through DAR Vol 160, all others who were accepted as DAR members based on the service of Sgt. Robert Martin were descended through James M. Martin and Easter Bogan Martin. [S322]
