Burgess for Caroline Co., Va 1736-38;
First clerk of Orange County from 1740-1745. He credited his
uncle , Edmund Gibson, Bishop of London, with getting him the
post of Clerk of Orange. Has also been mentioned as his brother.
Died in Orange Co., Va. of accidental poisoning.
Some of the above info may belong to son Johnathan.
