From "The Witherspoon Family Chronicle", this part written by Thermuthis Ann Montgomery Cooper: "My husband's great grandmother, Mrs. Cooper, came to this country with five sons. Mrs. Cooper came here about 1730 also had a daughter that married Hugh McCutchen. Her name was Isabella. She was the mother of the McCutchens of Williamsburg. She left two sons James and George. James was the father of the Lake McCutchens. George was the father of the Indiantown McCutchens and those in Sumter District."
