Mother: Eleanor Long ELLIOTT |
LDS: The children of Andrew and Elizabeth were:
a). Charles who married Sarah Smithers and moved to
Pennsylvania.
b). Battaile + married Frances White. (See below).
c). John married Sarah Daniel.
d). Lawrence married Catherine ?
Anthony + was born in 1563 in England and migrated to Virginia.
He had two sons:
a). Peter who died in 1606 in England.
b). Anthony + (Jr) who migrated with his father to Virginia
along with cousin Benjamin (above).
Anthony + (Jr) had four sons: 1. George 2. Andrew 3. James 4.
Richard. Richard had a son named Andrew (See below).
Andrew lived in Rappahanock Valley, St. Mary's Parish, Essex
Co., Virginia. He married Eleanor Elliot (last name not
proven). Richard left a will naming all four of their children:
a). Andrew (Jr.) (see below) b). Elizabeth married Thomas
Munday. c). Margaret married Gabriel Long. d). William married
Hannah Christopher.
NOTE: Our records acknowledge that Eleanor's name may have been
Elliot, but our
researcher said it was customary for guardians of orphans to be
chosen from among relatives -- usually aunts, uncles if there
were no older brothers or sisters. Our researcher theorized
that Eleanor may have been a Battaile or a sister to Elizabeth
Battaile's mother, who was Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Major
Lawrence Smith of early Virginia. Both John Battaile, and
Lawrence Smith were some of the most influential men of
Virginia.
