Hypothesis: quote taken from the "Lineage Book, National Society of the Daughters of the American Colonists" published in 1929, pg 132"Edward Colby gave funds to the London Company for the colonization of Virginia and owned land there. He was born in England; died 1620, Jamestown, VA"

That he was an ancestor of Priscilla Colby was stated by the submitter of WFT Vol. 7, Tree #1327. The exact number of generations is unknown.

In a 1624 census for Virginia there was a Edmond Colby. With only 2000 English living in Virginia at about that time there's almost certainty that they are related and most likely, father and son.
