"Dr. Barry Hayes unpublished Carter manuscript pages that has information on Edward Bryan(t) founder of the Bryan(t) family who came over to Virginia in 1620 on the Bona Nova and progenitor of the North Carolina group of Bryan(t)s and some of his descendants.
Born in Denbigh, Wales. Landed at Jamestown in 1618 aboard the ship "Marygould" from London/South Hampton. Listed in the 1624 Virginia Muster as a planter. Son Rodger was one of the leaders of "Bacon's Rebellion". Rodger was exiled from Jamestown colony after Bacon's execution in 1676 and moved north up Chesapeke Bay."
