Samuel COMMANDER is listed in The Witherspoon Chronicles (mostly
about the Witherspoon family of Williamsburg Co, SC in the
1700's). As I recall, there is no data on Samuel COMMANDER
there-- just a mention- something like "stayed at Samuel
COMMANDER's house" or "passed Samuel COMMANDER's house."

The 1800 Warren Co., Census for Peter Newell list 3 males under
10 (John, Gatewood & Camp), 3 males 10-16 (Thomas, William
Durham & ?) 1 male 26-45 (Peter) 1 female 10-16 )?) & 1
female 26-45 (Susanna).
In about 1804 or 1805 Peter and Susanna took family and moved to
Green Co., Kentucky. The 1810 Green Co. Census for Peter Newell
list 3 males under 10 (James, ? & ?), 3 males 10-16 (William
Durham, Gatewood & Camp), 1 male 16-26 (John), 1 male 26-45
(Peter), 2 females under 10 (Nancy, Mary) & 1 female 26-45
(Susanna). Thomas married in 1806 and I have never found
anything on Elizabeth perhaps she died before 1810 ???. I have
never been able to determine why they moved to Kentucky other
than I am pretty sure Susanne had at least 2 brothers move there
earlier.
In about 1812 Peter & Susanna moved to Simpson Co., Kentucky.
The 1820 Simpson Co., Census for Peter Newell lists 1 male
16-26 (James), 1 male 45+ (Peter)m 1 female 16-26 (Mary) & 1
female 45+ (Susanna).
Peter died 9-9-1823 in Simpson Co., Kentucky. The 1830 Simpson
Co., Census for Susanna lists only 1 female 50-60. Susanna died
5-5-1847 while living in Blandinsville, McDonough Co., Illinois
with her daughter Nancy Newell Logan."
