Src: War of 1812 Database of the Generations Historic Records CD-ROM. Participated in the Land Lottery of 1827. Received two draws. Dozier Thornton Brown resided in Captain Blackwell's District.
The lands disposed of in this lottery were ceded at Indian Springs on February 12, 1825, and embraced the five original counties of Carroll, Coweta, Lee, Muscogee, and Troup. Persons eligible for participation were Revolutionary soldiers, widows of Revolutionary soldiers, white males over the age of 18 years who had resided in Georgia for more than three Years, soldiers of the War of 1812, soldiers of the Indian wars and persons who had not taken part in previous lotteries.

The church is no longer standing and the graveyard was moderately overgrown when David Hunter Brown visited it on December 23, 1996."
