Agnes Alvis married Turner Clark on Jun 21 1798 by Rev. Lewis
Chaudoin, Sur. by David Alvis, listed on page 67 of the
1733-1815 Marriage Book of Goochland County, VA.
Turner Clarke Sr. married Jean Edwards and fathered Turner
Clarke Jr., born 27 Dec. 1758 in Goochland County. He married
Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Cragwall in 1789. Then Turner Sr married
Agnes (Aggie) Alvis on 19 June 1798 in Goochland. Agnes Alvis
was the daughter of David Alvis and Mary Cauthon.
Stephen J. Cragwall (b.c.1800) m. Elizabeth Alvis
on 5 June 1829 in Goochland.
There were also a lot of intermarriages between Clarkes and
Johnsons. Turner Jr.'s daughter Jane Elizabeth Clarke (my line)
m. William Johnson, and Stephen Cragwall's mother was a Johnson.
Turner Jr., because his Rev. War Pension abstract lists his
widow as Elizabeth, who would be Betty Cragwall. I have never
heard of Moses Sandifur - it's not in the pension abstract -
Besides my Jane Elizabeth, the only other child I have confirmed
is Sally, who is listed in Turner Jr.'s 1820 pension app as
being 18 years old.
