Conflicting info on the Ball lineage, however most believe The
Ball line is descended from Col. William Ball of England (b.
circa 1615; d. Nov. 1680) - emigrated to Millenbeck, Lancaster
Co., VA in 1650. Joseph's male issue is extinct.
Joseph, born 11 Mar 1684, who was educated in England and there
wed Miss Frances Ravenscroft;
He married second Mrs. Mary Johnson, a widow with two children,
John and Elizabeth Johnson. She was born in England and was
living neighbor to him in Lancaster County, Virginia, at the
time of their marriage.
Col. Joseph Ball died at "Epping Forest," Lancaster County,
Virginia, in 1711, leaving an only child by this second
marriage, Mary Ball (Hayden's Virginia Genealogies).
