From Anna Singer: "Owned a plantation on Walnut Branch of Cedar
Run which he had bought from the Stamps family. After
Revolutionary War, brought his family including son James to
Mason Cty, KY.
James B. married twice. He married Elizabeth Scott born in
Virginia died abt. 1760. He married Mary Stamps in Virginia,
bef. 17 Feb 1763. Mary was born in Fauquier County, Virginia
abt. 1730. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Stamps and Mary
Rose."
James B. Shackleford and Elizabeth Scott children:
i. Amy Shackleford was born ABT. 1758.
ii. Mary Shackleford was born January 20, 1752.
James B. Shackleford and Mary Stamps children:
iii. Willliam Shackleford married Sabina Metcalfe 1798. Sabina
iv. Edmund Shackleford
v. Thomas Shackleford
vi. Sarah Shackleford married Christopher Metcalfe in Fauquier
County, Virginia, born in Virginia aft 1725, the son of John
Metcalfe and Dianna Watkins, died 1759.
vii. Amelia Ann Shackleford
viii. James Shackleford, Jr. was born February 17, 1763.
ix. George Shackleford was born 1765.
by Michael Shackleford: "son of John Shackleford and Anne Lyne.
According to Anna Singer is debatable whether James B.
Shackleford is the son of John Shackleford (1670-1734 rec. #
1091) or John Shackleford (1700-? rec. #1082), the son of James
Shackleford (1660-1734 rec. # 711) and grandson of Roger
Shackleford (1629-1710 rec. # 713).
