The Draper Mss. 12-C-24, reports that a Mr. Samuel Moore,
present owner of certain land, is the son of the man killed at
Pickaway under Colonel Harrod.
Another Draper entry, 37-J471, reports that William Harrod, Jr.,
said his cousin, Samuel Moore, was killed in Bowman's Battle.
(The word "Cousin" may be loosely used in this case, for William
Harrod, Jr's., grandmother was a Sarah Moore, and his sister,
Sarah Harrod, married William Swan, brother of Mary (Swan)
Moore. Exact relationship is not shown).
Samuel Moore's widow did go to Kentucky and soon married John
Isaacs, one of James Harrod's men, (Draper 12-CC-97) by whom she
had 13 more children.

"Children: Ephraim Rucker, Reuben Rucker, Mary Rucker m.Creed,
Elizabeth Rucker m.Herring."
Peter RUCKER b: ABT 1707 d: AFT MAY 1794 Greene Co. Virginia.
"14 MAY 1791 Will Signed Orange County, Virginia; Probate: 23
Jun 1794 Orange County, Virginia Will Book 3, p. 306.
Census: 1782 Peter Rucker Resident Orange County Virginia, p. 39
Colonial VA census
1739 Peter's father John applied for a patent on 5850 acres in
Goochland County Virginia. In 1745 the patent was recorded in
the name of Peter Rucker, executor of his father's will. In his
will, John has stated the land was to be divided equally among
his 7 sons.
1749 Peter bought, for 40 pounds, 60 acres next to land owned by
his mother Susanna.
1750 Peter bought 115 acres adjoining the land of his mother
from John Goff.
1750's Circa Peter Rucker married Elizabeth Terrell. Proof of
their marriage is found in the will of her father Robert Terrell
of Orange County, Virginia, dated February 13, 1786. He named
the children of his deceased daughter Elizabeth: Ephraim Rucker,
Reuben Rucker, Mary Creed and Elizabeth Herring. In 1739 Robert
Terrell had purchased 123 acres near land of John Rucker, so
Elizabeth and Peter were neighbors before their marriage.
1751 --November 11 Peter divided the land among his brothers who
were old enough to own land. The Goochland County land was now
in Albemarle county, and in 1761 became Amherst County. Peter
remained in Orange County to take care of his mother Susanna.
--Peter and his wife Elizabeth signed a deed selling 204 of the
5850 acres patented by John Rucker.
--Peter and his wife Elizabeth sold 210 acres in Culpeper County
(on a branch of Elk Run) to his first cousin Ambrose Booton of
Culpeper County.
1769 --January 26 Peter sold 115 acres he purchased in 1750
("land he now lives on" adjoining his mother Susanna) to Andrew
Shepherd for 85 Pounds.
--May 27 Peter of Orange County and his mother Susanna, late of
Orange County, executors for John Rucker signed a deed that
conveyed the 130 acres "Susanna had formerly lived on."
1779 Peter purchased 372 acres in Orange County from Christopher
and Sara Singleton of Caroline County Virginia. The land
adjoined land Peter "now lives on, on the main road." Peter
bought and sold tracts in Orange County and following his second
marriage, Peter and Jemima also bought and sold land.
1787 --Peter sold 245 acres of land to Thomas Herring, husband
of his daughter Elizbeth.
--Peter paid taxes in Orange County on two black person above 16
years, two horses/mules and six cattle.
1794 June 23 The Will of Peter Rucker, signed May 4, 1791, was
presented to the Orange County Court. It only mentions his
children Claiborne and Phoebe. Jemima was still alive in 1807 as
she paid personal tax on two slaves until then.
1773 January 3 Peter married second Jemma Crawford."
