Probate Roll 675. Estate of John Standard, Burwell McBride,
Admr. The will of John Standard was recorded on 20 Sep 1814 in
Will Book 4 of Darlington County, SC. He bequeaths to his
mother Elizabeth, the Plantation where Thomas Warr now resides
and my Old negro, woman Nanny; some livestock and at her decease
to return to my estate.
Item - to my wife Susannah, all my land excepting such as before
disposed of for her proper use until my son Wm. Archebald
Standard attains twenty one years of age - also my negro-boy
Enoch, some livestock and furniture, etc.
Item - to son, William Archebald Standard, all my land when he
attains twenty one, also a decent education to be paid for out
of the profit arriving from the real & personal Estate.
Appointed his trusty friend Burwell McBride, Executor and my
Beloved wife Susannah Executrix. Wit: Wm. R. David, Sarah
Speightes and Wm. H. Cannon.
Inventory of John Standard's Estate, dated 22 Sep 1814.
Appraisors: Rasha Cannon, Dempsey Russell, Joshua Gardner
Totaled $856.50, including one slave only, Enoch valued at
$350.00, plus cattle, hogs, books, corn, fodder, a dutch oven,
etc.
Darlington Co. SC Deed Book B, p. 203 Stephen Gardner to John
Standard. $450.00: "....I, Stephen Gardner of Marion
District.....252 acres part originally granted unto John Alran
Oct 10, 1771....South of High Hill Creek, adjacent to lands of
Archibald McBride, deceased, Andrew Hunter, Sr., Rasha Cannon,
Lands of King & Park and bounded by High Hill Creek.....said
lands were sold by said John Alran to Thomas Draper on Jan 17,
1780 and by him sold to James Hinds Sr. on Feb 15, 1787....part
of said 252 acres was originally granted unto James Hinds Sr
April 3, 1786 and by him sold to Nun Clark by Sarah and Robert
Taylor, heirs of said James Hinds....371/4 acres sold to said
Stephen Gardner by John and Elizabeth Turner, heirs of Nun
Clark....371/4 acres sold to said Stephen Gardner by Sibra and
John Gardner heirs of Nun Clark (escept 1/4 part claimed by Mary
Clark & conveyed by her as heir of Nun Clark to Rasha
