Clodion, the successor of Pharamond, was called "Long Locks,"

leaving as his successor Anselbert, who died in .571, leaving
two children. Arnold was the eldest. He was Marquis of a
territory near tile Scheldt. He married Doda of Saxony, and,
after her death, entered the Priesthood and became Bishop of
Metz. He died in 640, leaving one soil, Ansigise, who married
Begga, (daughter of Pepin of Lauden, who belonged to a noble
Frailk family, akin to the Merovingians.

Will of John Kimbrough d. 1796 (he lived on Pee Dee River near
Cashway Ferry) says "200 acres of land late the property of John
Hodge bought by me from Abel Waddell...."
Abel and his wife are listed as members of Black Creek Baptist
Ch before 1800 in Townsend's "South Carolina Baptists";
Membership roll for Cashway Baptist Ch (mother church of Black
Creek) in 1756 shows Lewis and Phebe Malone, Mary Hodge, and
Robert Hodges.
The South Carolina Magazine of Ancestral Research Vol 7 page 72:
DARLINGTON COUNTY MEMORIALIZED RECORDS The following records are
from the same series as the "Orangeburg District Abstract of
Deeds" (Volume III, nos. 3 and 4) and the "Orangeburg District
Intestates 1819" (Volume VI, no. 3). All of the following are
from a period before the Darlington Court House fire (1806).
The actual records have not survived. Only the lists as
transcribed below are extant. These lists can be seen at S. C.
Archives.
"A List of all probates and administrations granted by the
Justices of the County of Darlington, Ordinaries for the said
County. Enterd upon record in the Clerks office of the
Aforesaid County from the 1st day of January Anno Domini 1789
until the 10th day of January Anno Domini 1790 to be returned
into the Secretarys office of the State of South Carolina
agreeable to an Act of Assembly passed the 13th day of March A.
D. 1789. &c."

Abel Waddell died in 1800 in Darlington District, South
Carolina. He was 63 years-old. The settlement of Abel Waddell's
estate is in Darlington County, South Carolina Records Book A
1806-1808 and Probate Returns Book 16 1783-1825. In Book A page
85, 86 and 87 - "We Rachel Waddell, Samuel Norwood, Noel
Waddell, Batson Morgan, Alexander Frazier of Darlington
District, Planters, to John Hodges Senr for $100.00 two tracts
of land - 100 acres granted Thomas Williamson and by him
conveyed to Wm Fountain and by him to Abel Waddell by whose
decease the tract became ours by kinship. "
