"Dr. Paul York, a g-grandson of Kit, did research on the
SANDIDGE family in the Green Co. area during the 40's. In his
work, Dr. York went into detail about most of the children of
John and Mary. For the youngest child, John W. SANDIDGE, he
only stated his birth date, 29 Jun 1809, and that he married a
BUNTS. This information was presumably from a SANDIDGE family
Bible that has not surfaced since Dr. York last viewed it, as it
was not in his permanent possession. I have seen marriage dates
for many SANDIDGE family members in and around the Green Co.
area, but I have never seen a marriage for John W. SANDIDGE and
a Miss BUNTS."
"children with John (these are just from census records, so it's
possible that some of them were not actually the children of
John & Mariah). John W. Sandidge is listed in the 1840 and 1850
Saline County censuses, but not later ones. (Two children in
1840, presumably Micajah and Josephine.) Presumably he died
before 1860. If H. G. is his child, he presumably died after
about 1856."
death notice in the Columbia Missouri Statesman, 19 Jun 1857, p.
2: On the 14th inst, Capt. JOHN W. SANDIDGE, a worthy citizen of
Saline, in the 48th year of his age.
With this, we now have the following vital statistics for him:
Born 29 Jul 1809 in Albemarle Co., VA, son of Captain John
Sandidge and Mary Wood; Married 15 Jul 1834 in Green Co., KY, to
Maria Louisa Brents; Died 14 Jun 1857, presumably in Saline Co.,
MO.
