Henry Perry, son & heir of Capt. William Perry, late of VA, deceased, received a land patent of 3,500 acres, in Charles City Co, VA, known as Buckland, 10 May 1642, Pat. Bk. 1, Part II, p. 771, including 1,500 acres by assignment from George Minifie of his right of transport for 30 persons, one of whom was named John Weaver. Marginal notes: These in the Shipp Dove of London Capt. Bicking, Mr. (Master), 1638. Source: Abstracts of Land Patents of Henrico County & Goochland County 1624-1732, Pat. Bk. 1, Part II, Early Virginia Families Along the James River, Vol. 1, pp. 10-11 (Genealogical Publishing Company 1983). Capt. William Perry was the second husband of Izabella (Smyth) Pace, widow of Richard Pace of Paces Paine, and step father of George Pace. Richard Pace was the "saviour" of Jamestown, who rowed across the James River from his plantation at Paces Paines to warn of the Indian attack that came the next morning, 22 Mar 1621/2, as a result of which Jamestown was spared the loss of life that occurred elsewhere throughout Virginia. Richard and Izabella Smyth Pace and their son George were ancestors of Rev. Richard E. Pace of Putnam Co, GA, and Benton (Calhoun) Co, AL, whose daughters married Sidney Linzey Weaver and Simeon Henry Weaver, descendants of Samuel (I) Weaver.
