INVENTORY--CLAUDIUS BUSTER ESTATE May 1, 1828
HOUSEHOLD PROPERTY-- Six feather beds with their steads and
furniture, consisting of six sheets, six blankets, eleven cover
lids and ten pillows, two straw beds with their steads and two
quilts, three tables, oneclock, one bureau, one cupboard and
furniture, three chests, one bookbase witha variet (six), twelve
chairs, four little wheels, one check seal, one kitchen cupboard
and furniture, one large kettle, four pots, four ovens andlids,
two skillets, two skillets, two apri dog-irons, one loom, three
potsacks, one fire shovel and two smoothing irons, three men's
saddles, one sidesaddle, one old pair of saddle bags and one
coffee mill.
LIVESTOCK-- Five work horses and two young ones, nine milk cows,
nine calves, five head of dry cattle, seventeen head of sheep,
fifty heads of hogs, twenty five head of geese, and four stands
of bees.
TOOLS-- One set of blacksmith tools, one set of cooper tools,
three drawing knives, one hand saw, two planes and foot adze,
one wagon and four pair of gears with collars and bridels (sic),
one pair of streatchers, three pair of double-trees, six weeding
hoes, two mchooks, two bar share plows, one set of
wagon tires, four gophers, and three shovels, one still and
vessels, one grai fan, one cutting box and knife, one harrow,
four chopping axes, one broad axe, one hand axe, three scythes
and cradles, two kegs of tabacco.

John Bartley and Joseph Hale to Elijah Borden, 61 1/2 acres on
Nolochucky river. Estate of Claudius Buster, Deceased.
This indenture, made the 21st day of February 1840, between John
Bartley and Joseph Hale, both of the County of Greene and State
of Tennessee of the one part, and Elijah Borden of the county
and state aforesaid, of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said John Bartley and Joseph Hale and Elijah
Borden are entitled jointly to the undivided tract of land, laid
off as the dower of the widow of Claudius Buster, deceased. That
is, the said John Bartley claims on shere(sic) in right of his
wife Martha, foremerly Martha Buster, also the shears of William
Buster and Archibold Buster. Elijah Borden claims one sher in
right of his wife Mary, formerly Jane Buster, John Buster and
Elizabeth Hale, formerly Elizabeth Buster. Joseph Hale claims
one shere in right of his wife Margaret, formerly Margaret
Buster, also the shere of Michael W Buster, and the above named
parties wishing to hold their shares inseveralithy, have agreed
volenterally (sic) to divide the above named tract of land.
Now in consideration of the foregoing promises, as well as
inconsideration of the sum of one dollar to each of them in hand
paid by the said Elijah Borden, the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, the said John Bartley and Joseph Hale hath
bargained and sold unto the said Elijah Borden a certain tract
of land, part of the dower aforesaid, containing sixty-one and a
half acres, Beginning at a red oak on the River Bartley's
corner, thence with his line south two hundred and twelve poles
to a stake, in Hale's line south fifty-one west, fifty-six poles
to a bunch of sourwoods, thence north with said Borden's line
two hundred and seventy poles to the river, then up the river
with meanders to the beginning, with all and singular
appurtenances whotsoever, in any wise belonging or appurtaining,
and the said John Bartley and Joseph Hale, for themselves, their
heirs, executors and administrators, doth remise, release, and
forever quit claim all their right, title, interest or claim of,
in or to, the above described land with the appurtances unto the
said Elijah Borden, his heirs, executors and administrators, and
the said John Bartley and Joseph Hale and land aforesaid from
themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators, and the
said John Bartley and Joseph Hale the land aforesaid from
themselves, their heirs, executors and adminstractors will
forevere warrant and defend by these presence.
In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand and seals, the
day and year above written.
It is further to be understood that the old road on the bank of
the river is to be kept open for the benefit of the neighbors as
hereunto, but gates or bars may be put if necessary.

George W Foute, Clerk of County Court of Greene County, the
within named John Bartley and Joseph Hale, the bargainers, with
whom I am personnally acquaited, and who acknowledged that they
executed the within Deed for the purpose herein contained.
Witnessed by hand at office the 22nd day of February 1840.
