Subject: [HARRISON] Harrison or Harris who descend from the
Calvert Alias Harrisons
"If you are a descendant of Thomas, Burr, or George Calvert
(Alias Harrisons), we have a potential way to prove a point!
Burr Calvert Alias Harrison(Thomas also) have signed court
documents in PW Co Court where they signed their name appending
the "Alias Harrison" to the signiture.
We have a descendant of Burr Calvert Alias Harrison, Alias
Harris after moving to the Abbeville SC area who is documented
to Burr Harris in SC. His DNA DOES NOT match
Prince William County Calvert DNA. This would account for the
difference in DNA.
By Acquiring other DNA samples from the Thomas Calvert and
George Calvert Alias Harrison lines, we might be able to show
that the DNA matches but does not match the Prince William
County Calverts--hence if it matches, showing that the alias
Harrisons are indeed orphans and have matching DNA among the
descendants.
We certainly don't have enough samples form enough families and
don't have proven John Calvert descent DNA as yet.
But you can see the opportunity here. Please contact me to
participate in the Calvert Surname project (sic) - Calvert

" "Lucie's Genealogy," by Eugene and Lucie Field, , June, 2003
add to this issue by perhaps finding its origin: "Frederick C.
Pierce in his Field Genealogy (Chicago: Hammond Press, 1901)
says that Col. John Field married Anna Rogers Clark the sister
of George Rogers Clark. Col. John Field did marry someone named
Ann or Anna, perhaps even an Anna Clark, but not the sister of
George Rogers Clark. George's sister married Owen Gwathmey and
her age does not fit the birth dates of the children of Col.
John Field. Anna Rogers Clark was born 14 July 1755 and married
Owen Gwathmey on 20 October 1773 when she was 22 years old. Owen
Gwathmey survived her by 8 years. They are both buried in the
Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. (Dorman, John F.,

Mother: Hannah Philippa Harrison LUDWELL |
Encyclopedia of Virginia Biography, Volume II, I--Fathers of the
Revolution: Thomas Ludwell Lee fourth son of Thomas Lee, and
Hannah Ludwell, his wife, was born at "Stratford," in
Westmoreland county, December 13, 1730. Nothing is known of his
school days, but it is highly probable that he was sent to
England for his education, as were most of his brothers. He
studied law, and practiced in the courts. He removed to Stafford
county, and represented that county in the house of burgesses in
the assemblies of 1758-1761, and 1761-1765, and in the
conventions of July and December, 1775, and May, 1776. He was a
member of the committee of safety in 1775, and in the convention
of 1776 served on the committee which drew up the bill of rights
and the plan for an independent state. He was one of the five
revisors appointed by the general assembly in 1777, and was
judge of the general court. He died at his home, "Bellevue," in
Stafford county, April 13, 1778. He married Anne Aylett,
daughter of William Aylett, and left seven children.
LEE, Thomas Ludwell, statesman, was born in Stafford, Va., Dec.
13, 1730; the second son of Thomas and Hannah (Ludwell) Lee. He
was educated as a lawyer and practised in Westmoreland county.
He was member of the Virginia house of burgesses, and in 1765
signed the Westmoreland declaration against the stamp act with
his brothers Richard Henry, Francis Lightfoot and Arthur. He was
a delegate to the conventions of July and December, 1775; a
member of the committee of safety; a delegate to the convention
of May, 1776; and a member of the committee appointed to draw up
a bill of rights and a plan for an independent government. He
was one of the five "revisers" appointed by the state government
on its organization; and judge of the state supreme court. He
died April 13, 1777.
