"From Log Cabins to the White House", by Mary Taylor Brewer (1985). On page 32 it discusses Thomas Taylor, born 15 Sept. 1548, son of Rowland Taylor and Margaret Tyndale, who married (1st) Elizabeth Burwell (son Thomas) and who married (2nd) __?__ and had Nathaniel (b. 1578 and went to Ireland) and Edmund (b. 1580) whose son, JEREMY TAYLOR, was born in England 15 Aug. 1613. He went to Ireland in 1638 and became the Bishop of Down.

Thomas Taylor, son of Rowland and Margaret Tyndale Taylor, was born 15 September 1548, probably in Hadleigh, England. He married first Elizabeth Burwell (born circa 1552 at Hadleigh). "She died two years after marriage and left a son Thomas." He married a second time to an unknown wife, and had at least two additional sons. "The family lived at Cambridge."
Known children of Thomas Taylor were:
1. Thomas Taylor; b. 15 March 1574; d. 1618; m. Margaret Swinderly 9 Oct 1599
2. Nathaniel Taylor; b. 1578 ("went to Ireland")
3. Edmund Taylor; b. ca. 1580
"...son Jeremy Taylor was b in England 15 August 1613. Jeremy was called the best loved and most gentle Clergyman of his day. He went to Ireland 1638 where he became Bishop of Down. He claimed direct descent from Dr. Rowland Taylor."
