Henry Asbury (1650-1 707)( I) - First appeared in the records of
Westmoreland County, Virginia, February 27,1678 (Order Book
1675/76 – 1688/89 p. 151). The tradition in the Asbury family is
that he came originally from Maryland and this is confirmed by
his mention in a suit before the Maryland Provincial Court, June
18, 1678 by John Palmer against Thomas Robinson, late of St.
Mary's County in which a promissory note from Robinson to Henry
Asbury was in question (Archives of Maryland, Vol. 67, pp.
377-78).

Mrs. Hannah died December 9, 1893 and on November 8, 1899 he was
married to Mrs. Martha Apgar, who cared for him lovingly until
his death. David died Friday, January 7th, 1916 at his home in
Mansfield, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held
the following Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the M. E. church.
Interment was in the Mackey cemetery."

A key piece of evidence is the discovery of deeds and other
court records identifying the family of the mother of Simon
Pearson. Up to now, she was lost in history. We still do not
know her first name, but her maiden name was Peak. Her father
was John Peak Sr. of Stafford County. He refers to Thomas
Pearson (Simon’s father) as his son-in-law in 1680."
